Dates for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party are announced!
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party dates have been announced for 2002. The Magic Kingdom is transformed into a Halloween wonderland, and includes special parades, fireworks, trick or treating, characters in costumes, special pictures and rides. All currently operating rides, with the exception of Toon Town rides, will also be open during the party. The party runs for 7 PM until Midnight. Ticket prices have yet to be determined, but they were $26 for adults and $21 for children for 2001. Day of party tickets were $2 additional. All ticket prices shown do not include sales tax. You can purchase tickets from Disney's web site.
During 2002, the party will be held on October 11, 17, 20, 25, 27, 31 and November 1. You can purchase tickets starting on April 28, 2002. If you are interested in going on Halloween, the tickets sell out very early. Other nights usually sell out only days in advance. If you are planning on going, get your tickets early, so you won't be disappointed. One hint, Friday and Saturday nights are very crowded, so if you have a choice, choose a different night. |

Sorry, I forgot to mention you can purchase tickets by calling (407) W-Disney.
We have been just before Halloween, and you can't even tell that there is a halloween party at night, everything looks normal. They do most of the decoration in the time between closing and party opening. |

I'm thinking about doing this Halloween party thing with the kiddies on 10/20. That will be a Sunday, will the park be more crowded during the day on that day due to the party in the evening? Also, do I have to be at the park before closing. I was thinking about doing Epcot during the day on that Sunday, going back to the hotel, swimming (if its not too cold) and resting during the afternoon and then getting the kids in their costumes for the evening and arriving just before the party begins. Any flaws with that plan? I heard that Epcot is busier during the week in October due to local school groups doing quasi-educational field trips.

Your plan looks great. You don't need to be in the park before closing. It is a seperate ticketed event. They actually close the park, get everyone out, and then re-open the park for the party. I don't think it will make it any more crowded, and I understand that Sunday night is the least crowded of the MK party nights, so you look good to go.
