The Travel Channel will be featuring Disney resorts in a new series called Grand Hotels. The Grand Floridian will be featured on December 23, January 15 and 17, and March 11 and 13. Animal Kingdom Lodge will air on January 6, 21, 23 and March 11 and 13. Another show will also feature the Yacht and Beach Club resort, the dates are currently unknown.

Grand Hotels airs weekdays at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and Sundays at 11 a.m.

Hey, Mickey, thanks for those links. I've often heard about the shows that highlight Disney properties on the Travel Channel and (Doh!) I've never thought to check their on-line listings to find the showtimes! Anyway, I just checked out the times for the rest of March, and all of the shows will be on while I'm at work. I know. I know. That's why VCR's were invented. But, honestly, I have a recurring problem in that area: I record shows that I really want to see, and I just do not get to watch the majority of my recordings. So, I'll just keep checking the schedule 'til I can either directly watch one of the programs or commit to actually watching a recorded show at a later date.

Thanks for the info! I'll be taking my first trip to WDW on September 7th, and my sweetie and I will be staying at the Yacht Club. I'm excited just planning for the trip, and was happy to find that the show for the Beach and Yacht Club Resorts is airing in just two days. I never would have thought to check the Travel Channel for such a show otherwise! :p

Hi Trish!

I live in Bridgeville. You're lucky to live in Lewes and be that much closer to the beach! I'll be going to Rehoboth tomorrow to get a "primer tan" for Florida!

The Yacht & Beach Club show airs August 26 at 3:00 pm and August 28 at 11:30 am. I hope to be able to catch (or tape) one of the shows. Will you be staying at either of these resorts on your next trip?

Stephanie...I stayed at the Beach Club last September. We enjoyed it very much. The proximity to Epcot is the highlight for us (we love Epcot). Yachtsman Steakhouse is our favorite restaurant. Be sure to request a room with a balcony, otherwise you will be sitting in the landscaping with lots of bugs(eewww..:p )
Glad to hear that you live so close! I grew up between Bridgeville and Georgetown off of RT 18 (404). This will make you smile..I babysat for the Smith boys (TS Smith & Son) when I was a teenager.
