Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

I never thought about it until my kids came along, but now I see things a little different. But it hasn't made me stop boarding any rides, just wonder a little.

Never. BTMRR is the only ride that has had a major accident (to my knowledge) so I never worry.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

I voted yes. It it just my personality to think of all the possible things that could happen anywhere I'm at! It's not just rides it's everywhere. I'm paranoid! My DH has done alot to help me get a little better with it but I still have a long way to go. I do ride the rides but one little strange sound and I start panicing.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

Considering there are rides I have not yet been on (MS, Aerosmith), I would say, yes, I'm alway conscious of the slight or remote possibility that something may go wrong. I hope and pray inside that it doesn't - and mostly everything goes fine.
Most recently I rode BTMR in April, and I couldn't help but think of the guy who lost his life on it - particularly when it made sharp, scary turns. Scariest of all, when the ride came to a stop - it paused just before the exit - for a few seconds, and suddenly I heard the other car coming head on over the mountain behind us. I felt as if we moved at the last possible minute. Not sure if that's the way the ride runs, but I thought someone would be seriously injured then!
Most other worries are mostly internal - like - will the thrill be too much - cause breathing/heart/fainting problems.
Even the TAME rides like EL RIO DEL TIEMPO, PIRATES, and NORWAY have me alert - what if you suddenly lose balance getting into the boats? I take the attitude of being aware at all times.

Yes, I always consider it since my wife had back surgery and then reinjured her back on Space Mountain at DL about 20 years ago.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

I never, ever think danger on the rides at WDW (unless of course you count danger of throwing up from motion sickness ) I did use to get pretty darn nervous on the Skyride, however.

Yes, especially on the roller coasters. All it takes is one lose bolt.

LOL. Ever been to DCA? You sure wouldn't like the Maliboomer! You've got 16 people strapped in, waiting to be shot 190 feet in the air...and all of a sudden there's this huge THUNK! It's the sound of the air being transferred into the launch chamber, but it scares the goodness-gracious out of every person, every time!

Never thought about it, and I think as soon as I will go through Disney gate, will forget about past accidents... its like nothing could ever happen there...

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

I vote never but then again there are some rides I don't go on at Cedar Point (in Ohio, known to have some of the country's top thrill coasters) because the thrill level is just too high for me ...but there aren't any rides that audacious at Disney.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

This may sound funny, but since having my son, when we go to Disney World and are getting into a ride that has a moving platform (i.e. Pooh, Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear, etc.) I am more cautious getting into the spaceship, honey pot, ship, or whatever it is you sit in for that ride. 9 times out of 10 I am carrying my son and I know the one time I am not paying attention I will trip and go flying.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

Never, WDW does a pretty good job with safety... Most events that I have heard of was do to a persons physical condition and the typr of ride. Not so much because of a malfunction........
