Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

With the two accidents at Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland, there is obviously a small amount of danger each time you board a ride. Is that every anything you have considered?

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

I've never really thought about it. I mean it's strange because when I'm at other places it runs through my head, but it never has at Disney. Kinda strange. But it's true. Hmm

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

I consider possible dangers on any amusement ride and always make sure to follow the listed rules that are posted for my safety. It seems like the only time I actaully consider a ride breaking though, is when it's a thrill ride. I still go on them and love them, but there is always a second or two of anxiety about the possibilities. The thought leaves as fast as it comes though.

Never. There are so many things that can happen to a person throughout a normal day you would go crazy if you thought about them all. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

the thought of being in danger while boarding a ride in WDW never crossed my mind. i don't know if it'll cross my mind while i'm there in september. but in all honesty, i'm not worried about it. i'm sure the people at WDW are now working twice as hard to see to it that every ride in the parks are all safe each and every day before the parks are open.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

considering the fact that on my most recent trip, we broke down on Pirates, Haunted mansion, mission space, and splash mountain, I sometimes consider that there could be some danger. These were all minor malfunctions with the ride up and running in a few minutes, but who konws...All the times those rides broke down could just have easily been something more serious, depending on where you are in the ride cycle. Ya never know...but, you can't live your life in fear, so go for it!

I chose other because I used to never think about it, but I did last May when we were riding Big Thunder, apparently with good reason.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

No, not really. I mean, I was a little concerned when I was on the Matterhorn at DL, its all old and creaky, but I never really think about it at WDW. I guess I should, it could happen anywhere. I have heard about many accidents at the parks that were all stupid people's fault for not following the rules.

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

I had to vote "Other." Normally, the thought of safety never even crosses my mind, because Disney's most important Key for their cast members to remember is SAFETY. It is drilled into our brains, day in and day out! But I have to admit that I have been a little wary of BTMRR in the recent past. With this 3rd accident, they have me really concerned!!

Re: Do you consider the possible danger when boarding a Disney ride?

Never thought about it. If you think of all the things that could happen to you in a normal day (car crashes, mugged, robbed, shot......) and if you think about all of the people that pass through Disney every day, it is such a small number of injuries. As with anything mechanical, there are always going to be breakdowns and malfunctions.

I think that things that you hear at Disney, you hear only because it is a internationaly known destination.... if it were a small theme park or carnivall, would the whole country hear about it???
