What do you do on your first day arriving at Disney?

Many people arrive late in the afternoon at Disney, and don't know what to do. So, what is it that you do?

What do we do on our first night at Disney? We explore the resort! We arrive a day before our 'official' vacation begins and enjoy all the things that our resort has to offer. Plus, it is so relaxing! We unpack our bags and check out the pool, store and restaurants. :)

what we do is, we arrive at approx noon, the is usually not ready, but they will register you and give you your room key. we then go to the pool (our bathing suits are in our carry on luggage) we find a maid and explain that we are waiting for our room, and could we please have some towels. we will get something light from the food court for lunch, this we enjoy poolside, at about 2 pm we call the desk usually by now the room is ready, they tell us our room number and we go unpack.
we now have had some rest after our flight, we are relaxed, and now its time for the parks.

Depends on when we arrive. Late afternoon, we do pool and explore the resort with a dinner planned for somewhere in one of the parks or DD. Evening, pool and walk, too late to go to parks, maybe BB or TL, but not MK, EC, AK, or MGM. Early Afternoon, parks, parks, and more parks!!

Traveling with a six year old, we decided to save MK for later in the week. MK tends to be too spoil it for the rest of the parks. If we do AK one day, EC another before going to MK, he tends to enjoy the other parks more. Just a thought.

we will be arriving at the resort around 11:30 (after getting luggage and getting transportation to the resort), so we first eat lunch, we will be very hungry due to the fact that are plane leaves at 7:10 am. Then we will go to whatever park my 7 year old wants to do, usually MK. After a few hours of rides we return to the resort to unpack and do some swimming. Then it lights out and boy will we be tired!!!:)

We always plan our trips to arrive at WDW in the morning, whether driving or flying there. This enables us to get a bite to eat, stretch, and possibly settle into the room if we're lucky. This time period usually lasts no longer than 2 hours, then its off to MK!! :) :) :) :)

We always get to Old Key West about 5:00 pm. We unpack & get settled, pack the backpack for the next day, and then head to Port Orleans French Quarter about 7:00 to the Food Court and then go swimming that evening until about 9:00. Then we go back to our room and get cleaned up, and "hit the hay" about 10:00. Then we are off to the Magic Kingdom bright and early!

For us, depending on arrival, it is either check out the resort or Downtown Disney. I just love DD and it is a greater starter and ending to a nice vacation, in my opinion.:)

Generaly after getting to the hotel around 2 or so I explore the hotel grounds. Then hop some Disney Transportation to the Monorail. (it's totally free to ride the monorail) That gives me just enough Disney fix to hold me over till the next morning. (as always waiting at the park gates as they open)
Then late night pool fun.

:) :)

We just can't wait to get right in the middle of things! Since we're at BWI this time, we'll head straight to the International Gateway & get our first fix of the trip.

We always go to the MK first. It's probably because that park just brings out the kid in each of us. It is usually the last park we go to as well.:)

When we fly Southwest, we never arrive before 7pm so we just hang around the resort. If we're entirely too pumped up to go to bed early, we just hop on a bus and head to Downtown Disney. :)
