Re: What is Disney's best indoor roller coaster?
Though I have a soft spot of nostalgia for Space Mountain, the pure sensory sensation of Rock 'n Roller Coaster, makes it the absolute best! Nothing beats that first 10 seconds!!

Re: What is Disney's best indoor roller coaster?
Who voted for Space Mountain?
I think Space Mountain is cute and I agree with llama that it's a nice trip down memory lane, but the darned thing was build in the 70's and uses 70's technology. The only "upgrade" it ever got was in the early 90's when the cars got new seating. The concept is a terrific concept, but I'm definately looking forward to when it gets shut down and re-done. I'll be very interested to hear about reviews for the new Space Mountain at DCA next year. But RnRC is a HANDS DOWN winner in this category.

Gotta love RnR!!! That anticipation as they scream the countdown in your ear, the take off blast, & the ride itself all add up to a 10+++!!!!!

Re: What is Disney's best indoor roller coaster?
Man, RnRC has a great blast-off, but I still voted for Space Mountain! That moon-walk of a pre-show is SO cool, I love the *music* (I've got an MP3 of it that I play all the time at home), the weird warpy 3D scenes you go past, the lighting, the odd inclines in the twilight that make you feel like gravity is altered, as you glide on down the fast-pass lane...And then all that freaky shakin' and droppin' in the dark. I love going past the astronauts and seeing the earth in the distance. And the buildup to the whole durn thing, as you walk up to that great icon of Disney architecture, and get swallowed up into its airy caverns...Fan-floorpin'-tastic!!
Yah, Space Mountain!!! Whoooo!!!! ![]()

Space Mountain...hands down.
(do you know that area in Buzz Light year were they do the optical trick to make you feel like you are going much faster then you really our...that would be cool effect to put that on the hills and other slow spots on SM) |

Re: What is Disney's best indoor roller coaster?
I don't think someone can adequately describe that moment when your car takes off. I had to have my DW walk through RnR and leave just before getting on the ride so she could see for herself and understand. It's the best!

Sorry, Space Mountain beats it by about a mile. But not that antiquated baby ride you have in Florida. Space Mountain in Paris is absolutely awesome! Upside down in the dark - twice!! And all at breakneck speed with loud atmospheric music. As the sign says - De la terre a la Lune!! . NO CONTEST!!!
