Re: Why do you go to Disney?
So me and my husband can enjoy a real vacation with our children at a place that is truly magical and forget about the real world for a while.

Maybe some of us like it because when we were growing up we watched Walt every Sunday night yearning to go to Disneyland but it was too far away. For some reason Florida is easier for Ohioans to get to. My California cousins sent me a goody box when I was about 6 years old and it had a cute pink tinkerbell apron trimmed in lace. It blew me away, it was sooooo awesome! Especially because I had very little growing up - their generosity still brings tears to my eyes! Life got better and my DH and I had an opportunity to visit WDW when we first got married and then I got hooked and never have wanted to go nearly anywhere else! Several of our friends and family like to go to Vegas and my niece was married there in July so I finally saw the place. IT IS NOT WDW - but I did notice that the people there got as excited about it as I get about Disney so I think of it as their "Disney" (It could never be our Disney - and I feel I can speak for most of us here on DisneyCentral) I do miss it between trips, and I had to laugh at myself the other day because even though I am going in Nov. I was already thinking about the next trip after that! It's like I am a continual Disney trip planner. This probably belongs in the "how pathetic am I" thread. PS. we have loved taking the kids over the years but we really enjoyed our anniv. trip alone and guess what? They ain't comin' in Nov.... ![]()

Re: Why do you go to Disney?
I go to WDW because it's the only place in the world that I can regress back to a 8 year old and it's acceptable. Where else can you skip around wearing mickey ears and it's considered "normal"? That and I love to share my love for WDW with my DD and have each and every special moment with her.

Re: Why do you go to Disney?
I have several reasons for going. First, I don't think I will ever grow up. I have just as much--if not more--fun as my two kids. DH has to laugh as I am rushing from attraction to attraction telling him to hurry up. Second, I enjoy sharing the magic with my family and letting my kids grow up with the same love for Disney that I have. Last, it is trully a magical escape from the everyday life. While there, we have no worries and are trully happy for the entire trip. We leave all cares behind. Who would not love to escape into such a happy place and share the magic with their loved ones.

Re: Why do you go to Disney?
I go for lots of reasons
-My philosphy is a big house and foreign cars don't change your life -I had them growing up, and it did not change my friends, my relationships - none of the things I consider important So, I would rather spend my money on vacations, memories, activities for our family and kids. I would also like to put a good amount in savings so we can have some security in case of a rainy day. Having three DS's and working, I don't have a lot of time for myself. WDW gives me something to hang on to, something I really enjoy to look forward to throughout the year or years, however long it takes to get back. WDW also gives the family, in particular the kids, great times and memories. It brings our family closer. |
