Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?

SoundGod,
I respectfully disagree with you. While I love coasters, I don't love leaving "my" world when I am there. I choose not to go to those "other" parks because frankly I don't like them, but I do like Disney because it is more than the coasters it is the all around theme that goes into Expedition Everest and M:S. It's not the money spent, it's the time spent on those rides. I choose to go to "my" park and not those "other" parks because they take the time and the money and put it into the rides where those other parks don't. They just go for the thrill, and that is why they will never compare to Disney and why they will never get my money. Thanks, but I will just wait for Exp:Eve, and the next big Disney ride, because a Disney ride is not just a ride is an entire show and story all in itself and that is what makes it not just different but puts it in a class by itself.

Gotta go with the moderate resort that sleeps 6. Thats what was cool about the Treehouse villas!

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?

I voted for a boys character meal... is it wrong of me to want to go to it??? lol... But a new water park was a close second. I love Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon - they're themed so great, and even though they're similar water parks they both seem so different to me.

Now who's not being an Imagineer? My point IS to not leave "the " world. I mention not spending as much on themeing, or perhaps theming lite, so more can be built. Is the Hulk any less themed than Space Mountain? Not really It has a story that explains why you're being shot out of the Gamma Cannon. Rock and Roller Coaster exists (same ride) at Six Flags Holland as Superman the Ride. From RCDB "Nearly the same track layout as the "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster" models at Disney Parks. Superman The Ride's layout is a bit more spacious to compensate for a higher speed launch as the trains a lighter without the musical hardware." It's also not inside a building. Top Thrill Dragster and Xcelorator have a hot rod theme, explaining the high speed launches. Montu flies through the Egyptian ruins. Big Bad Wolf flies through a Bavarian Village. How much do you really need to theme a 300 foot coaster beyond the load station and some on ride scenery? I want to avoid the whole "Disney does theming better than anyone else" discussion. In some ways, California Adventure is a prototype of my concept. What's the theme of California Screamin'? Mulholland Madness? Primevil Whirl at Animal Kingdom? Not the excuse, but the real story, and does that story really work for those rides? There were people who said Disney shouldn't do a Cruise Line. An Animal Park. So, why not a coaster park? don't for a minute think that if Disney did this type of park, they wouldn't apply the standard Disney philosophy to it. Come on, even the hotels are themed! The scariest ride in WDW is Out of Control Bus! It's a big world, there's plenty of space that this park doesn't have to be on top of the other parks. You don't want noisy coasters near Animal Kingdom. So, let me have a corner.

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?

hmmm....coaster thrill park...it'd be fun...i'd like it, i'd go...i understand the vibe though...dosn't seem like a real disney thing to do since disney is mostly geared towards kids and families and only a handful of kids will go on them.....

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?

I voted Boy's Character Meal. Eventhough I don't have a boy, I do think that they need more things for boys. There are too many Princess things and even the girls like Toy Story and Monster's, Inc.

Soundgod...I am right there on the same page as you. No offense to the other DC members but I really think that WDW needs to add a 5th park that is nothing but thrill rides and simulated rides similar to Spiderman. As for the comment about only a handful would go. I respectfully disagree. You obviously haven't been to CedarPoint, home of the thrill rides or the other Amusement Parks that offer up a great deal of thrill rides. Those places are just as packed as WDW.

I have heard many rumors about WDW actually doing a thrill park and have it be villian themed. If you are not into this sort of thing, then don't go, just as you don't go to the "other" parks. There would still be plenty of variety for everyone.

Lets not turn this thread into a bash, it seems as though some of the threads that I look at lately get pretty heated on opinions. Opinions are what makes DC a great place.

I voted for the "Boys" character meal. Although I have girls my nephew (who's only 4 months old) deserves to have a character meal geared for him.

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?

dizneeluvr--to correct the statement.....i said "on a handful of kids will go on them" them meaning...thrill rides..some kids don't like them...some do..i did...my neices and nephews 13, 12 and 5.....are terrified of them.... and yes, i have been to cedar point, six flags, carowinds, universal studios and busch gardens...i did not say that disney should or shouldn't not build one....just mearly contemplating on the idea--i had never thought of it before...

I whole heartedly agree with you lawwin. I don't think that SoundGod gets it. If I want to hit the thrill rides I know that Universal has a few really good ones and so do many other parks. Who needs more of the same? This "keeping up with the Joneses" syndrom is making me crazy.

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?

You know, even the Disney cruise ships don't have casinos. There's a bunch of places in Florida that would love to be able to put full casinos in, but you might even find that once gambling is legal in Florida, Reedy Creek could ban them inside district boundries. I'd agree with them. You don't need a casino in Downtown Disney. What they do need is HBO or some other premium cable channel in the hotels.
