Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?
How about re - instating and possiblly extending the old SKYWAY transportation that used to run from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland. It was great to soar gently over the Magic Kingdom............greatly missed in my opinion.

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?
I voted for a moderate resort that sleeps 6. This has been a "pet peeve" of mine for the past few years. It just seems that there are not enough accommodations for larger families. I woudl think that there are allot of us out there who woudl benefit greatly from this.
My second choice was a boy themed character meal. |

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?
I have an idea that would revolutionize the World.
First, we've had so many discussions about the Values, and even though they're less expensive, it's still not the most affordable option. So, Disney should add a handful of "Motel 6" style resorts with very limited theming, but access to Disney transportation. The cost for staying there would be less than the Values. Next, lots of Thrill rides. I've heard people talk about converting Spaceship Earth into a thrill/roller-coaster ride. Man, wouldn't that be great? Also, the World Showcase is getting really stale. Does anyone actually LIKE going back there? Each of the "countries" should be overhauled where each one has a "feature" ride. If there were 2 or 3 thrill rides in the World Showcase, it would DEFINATELY get more foot traffic. You know what else? There should be beer available at the Magic Kingdom. I get so tired of dealing with all of the rug rats screaming and whining. Sometimes, a beer or two (or three) would be a PERFECT way to take the edge off. If Disney would just make some of these modifications, WDW would finally become a piece of true Americana. For those of you who know me, you know that my tongue is for firmly inserted in my cheek that I might have trouble removing it. For those who don't get the joke, please forgive me. ![]()

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?
Merlin Matt, if you check out the roller coaster forums, and some of the other Disney fan sites, the talk about Spaceship Earth has been going on for years now. There were/are plans to gut the golf ball and add some sort of coaster. Two problems, one, the load station might wind up in one of the innoventions, no loss, and two, it seems that the Spaceship Earth ride is integral to the construction of the ball itself, and that's the real problem. As you can see, this does actually exist at a German theme park called Europa Park and the ride is EuroSat. Thrill rides in Epcot? Soarin' opens next year and the Spaceship Earth project is back burnered by the Imagineers, for now. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it. (Motel 6 at Disney World?)

Inside EuroSat, it can be done.

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?
In all seriousness and with no disrepect intended, there is a fairly large percentage of the population that doesn't want Disney to be like the other parks. While I have no doubt that there are lot of folks who would like to see many more thrill rides at Disney, I'm sure that if a plurality of Disney guests wanted it that way, Disney would already be doing it.
I have nothing against thrill rides. I love RnRC, and not only because I love Aerosmith. But Disney has a magic that I truly believe would be significantly watered down if Disney were to take an "us too" attitude. I'd like to see more imaginative attractions like Philharmagic, or Buzz's Space Ranger Spin. I love the shows that I've seen so far, and I'm looking forward to Fantasmic, Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid Show. Additional shows would be great. I'd love to see more use of animatronics and/or interactive features on attractions that, IMO, are inevitable. There's no way I'd spend all that money at WDW if it became "just another amusement park." I don't travel 1500 miles to Florida for an amusement park. I travel for a magical vacation.

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?
But Disney is doing it already. Just at a slow pace. Tower of Terror and RnRCoaster were added to the park. Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, and Primevil Whirl are all additions. Mission Space, Test Track, and Soarin' are additions. None of these can be considered anything other than a thrill ride. A disney thrill park can be done, would be popular, and not be disruptive to the rest of WDW. Certainly no more disruptive than having a week long PGA golf tournement. If Disney themes even it's value hotels, how would they not apply the same treatment to a "Coaster Kingdom". Why else are they rebuilding California's Space Mountain? There's a theme to the water parks. There's a them to the miniature golf courses. You know that Disney MGM is dumping the Indy stunt show for the driving stunt show from Paris. I'd like to see Disney try to do a Terminator 2:3D type show. Have you ridden The Mummy? Someone said Spiderman. Open your mind, open your heart. After all, it's not a small world. I just want a corner.

I have no problem with Disney adding the occasional thrill ride, so long as it's not done INSTEAD of some of the more creative attractions. And you can't possibly call Primeval Whirl a thrill ride. It's very tame. With that, that particular area of AK is my LEAST favorite in all of WDW. It feels like every other amusement park I've ever been to. I don't feel that way anywhere else in the World. Whatever Disney wants to do, they're going to do. If they open up a "coaster only" park, chances are I'd go visit it, but certainly it wouldn't be an important part of my trip. Whatever they do, so long as they're not tearing at the fabric of what has become Disney Magic, that's fine with me.

Re: If WDW added just one thing, what should it be?
Primevil Whirl is a rotating wild mouse, a roller coaster. You might not think so, but it is in the middle range of thrill rides. I think I can safely say that, having ridden over 180 coasters. Goofy's Barnstormer isn't really a thrill ride, but a family coaster. If you were to build a ride like Primevil Whirl in Roller Coaster Tycoon, it would rate into the 6.0 area of intensity, a thrill ride. I agree, Dinoland is an appendix to Animal Kingdom, but the back story is it's this 50's type roadside attraction park owned and operated by dinosaurs(?). But it was felt that after many complaints from guests, they needed to add rides into Animal Kingdom. My park wouldn't be coasters only, but coastercentric with other rides and some sort of show(s). It doesn't need to be an important part of your trip, just that it's there. Plenty of people have no need for Animal Kingdom or Epcot, others love them. My bottom line is there can never be enough coasters in Florida. Too bad more aren't near Miami.

Coaster park or not, Disney can pull off just about anything. And everyone would go. And my stock will go up. LOL!
Jen ps. I was just kidding about the casino ~ have enough of 'em around here, don't need to travel to Florida to lose all my money ![]()

Villians resort and character meal...same building so it's technically one thing...right?
