Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

We do have the luxury of living close enough where WDW is less than a day's drive, but I do have to say, the Disney Express does give new reason to fly for a weekend trip or so. I've found flights before from New Orleans for $94 round trip, and if we find one soon, you can believe the Disney Express will be a factor in a "cheap weekend getaway."

We currently fly in from Chicago, though when little one number two comes along, we may start driving.

Sounds promising... I think I will wait and see how people like it before committing to it.

We usually drive to WDW, but if we fly we will definitely give it a try.

Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

Absolutely. At least, I am going to give it a shot for our anniversary trip in May. I figure if it turns out to be a disappointment, we can always go back to reliable Tiffany Towncar! But it's free for the moment and if nothing else, at least I can review it here on DC and let others know what the experience was like.

It sounds really, really cool. But considering the 10-15 minute drive I don't think I'll be using it much!

Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

i drive--but i probaly wouldnt use it if i lived farther away...i cant imagine how long youd have to wait for the bus to leave...or on to come even? sure they say now they'll be on time...but really...do you think they'll drive a bus across town with only 2 people for no charge? second..id be tooooooo scared about luggage misplacement...theres a bad way to start off your trip..then youd have to take a taxi to the outlets and spend money and then take a taxi back...itd cost you more than quicksilver...i dunno..this is just one dudes opinion

Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

I don't think I would use it. I would like my "own" car to be sure not to have to wait for 30 or 40 other people to be dropped off at their resort before me. Not a good start for a vacation - I'd like to start and end that in style.
The concept works for me, but I am not the only passenger and I don't like to feel like cattle.

Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

Since we will be driving on our next trip, we will not be using. However, my sister who is meeting us there will be trying it. This way, we will not have to leave Disney and drive to the airport to pick her up. Hopefully it will work out for her. Worst case scenario, we will come get her and take her back to the airport at the end of the trip.

I love the idea of not waiting for your luggage when you get off the plane and having the bags delivered to your room but I always rent a car, so I wouldnt need the transp. and 1 drawback I think, when you check-in what if you don't like the room they assign you, then you have to have your bags switched.....

any thoughts?

Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

I change my vote. After much deliberation and talking with the hubby, I decided that $80 is just plain worth it. I like the security and intimacy of having a towncar devoted to our service. If it was just me and my best friend going again, we'd probably use the Magical Express. But since this will be DH's first trip, I think I will stick with trusty Tiffany Towncar.

I will try DME once just to check it out.... if it is convenient (not too many stops) then I'd use DME again.

Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

I have never used anything except a rental car to commute to Disney from the airport. We often venture outside of WDW, so it easiest for us to do that with the rental car. However, as PoohFan mentioned, it would be really convenient if others were arriving at the airport on another day. They could use the service to meet us at WDW and spare me a trip! That would be great. By the way, is this new service available for any guests (including those at DVC?)

Re: Will you use the new Disney Magical Express?

Hi, Disney Teacher! Thanks for the warm welcome (back). I know I've been inactive for some time, but I've tried to monitor DC on a semi-regular basis and I was so excited about the new things happening at Disney (revamped tix, Magic Express, new attractions, etc.) that I "weighed in" on the poll.
