I barely use my cellphone for anything other than "necessary conversation", so it is important to bring along on trips. I leave it on buzzer, even though my ringtone is "A Whole New World". (anyway, it would never be heard). I belive It's vital during trips for keeping tabs on who's with you, as well as necessary if you are staying at the resorts. I've got a pretty good plan that beats making calls on property. I also need to be in touch with family who lives in the area to meet up and time our get-togethers.

I also have used it to "share" events -- my buddy back home has never been to Star Wars Weekends - but I was able to give him a taste of what was happening - live on the spot. That was fun.

We take ours and also walkie talkies too. We do tell family only to call in emergencies though and so far so good. One pet peeve, please turn your phone to vibrate or silent while in the parks and wherever else in the World.

We always carry our cells. DH carries 2, the work cell and personel cell, and I carry mine too. We don't go anywhere without them.

I always have my cell on me. I will NOT answer if it is work calling me while on vacation. Now if I could just get my DW to answer hers.....

Now that both our children are teens, they can go their separate ways and we can keep in touch with them. They are always calling their friends back home. Thankfully most of them use the same provider so air time is free round the clock. If any friend is on a different provider, we restrick their calls to evenings and weekends.

We take ours with us so that if there is an emergency at home, we can be reached. On our last trip we left them in the hotel safe and used Walkie Talkies to communicate in the parks. Since we have changed plans on our phones we now have nationwide coverage, so we will leave the walkie talkies at home and communicate with each other using our cell phones. In my opinion, that is the best way to be able to meet up quickly when my oldest must play Who Wants to Be a Millionaire while my youngest has to go to the Playhouse Disney show and neither wants to do what the other wants. (That actually happened last trip.)

We never take it with us. Always check in with family when we arrive and give them the # where we can be contacted in the event of an emergency. Just don't want to be bothered while we are on vacation. Get that enough at home.

We use it to stay in touch with others in our group. we have nationwide service, so there's no roaming in Orlando area. Thank God for Caller ID, though. If I get a call from work, I just don't answer it.

I'm never with out my cell phone. Work thinks I carry it for them to be able to get in touch with me but in reality it's to keep in touch with friends and family
