Re: Will the new AP rates dissuade you from buying an AP in the future?

I don't think this will last ...someone in corporate should be fired for this travesty,if you don't want to give AP discounts just say so,but right now I am in DC and made my reservation and had till the day off at 5;00 pm to cancel (with no deposit)....this is a problem ,for them not us ,because without us ,well you know....this puts my cruise in doubt and If I cancel that you can rest assured that This will be the first year in the last 15 I will not have gone ...and we normally go at least twice if not three times ....disney the next move is yours

I don't think I will renew mine, looks like the package deals will be better and more inclusive. I am getting alot out of my passes that I have just looks like we won't get a dicount on the room this Dec.

Re: Will the new AP rates dissuade you from buying an AP in the future?

I was looking into buying one for our upcoming trip so that we could go again. After looking into it more, it is cheaper for my family to buy the 10 day premium ticket twice than it is to buy the premium annual pass. Granted we won't get the discountsat World of Disney or be able to purchase the Dining card, but after crunching the numbers, I am money ahead to just buy the MYW Premium ticket for 10 days plus the 5 days in the water parks on both trips. It seems like Disney is trying to dissuade people from buying the AP. Just my humble opinion though.

That is exactly our situation, too! I hope DVC continues to give the discount they gave us this year!!! I'll keep buying if they keep offering it!

Interesting thought, but it is a huge chunk of change for Disney to give up considering it is up front money. We have had one for years. Use it often, but we still spend a ton on food, etc while we are there. Not having one would certainly disuade me from going over and having to purchase park tickets each time we go.

It is a chunk of money that disney is messing with. I can't believe they are making such a bad decision.

All I have to say is I agree!!!! I just cannot believe they will not give you your deposit back if you should have to cancel. I would hope they would at least let you re-schedule without a penalty. One nights deposit is alot of money to loose..... JOANN

Re: Will the new AP rates dissuade you from buying an AP in the future?

My AP's expired in Dec. and since my next trip (hopefully) is this Dec. I haven't renewed them. With this news coming out, I probably will not renew them. I generally get 2 trips off of them and the room discount makes them worthwhile. The uncertainty and no refund without losing $ makes the package deals look pretty good. I sure can't understand why Disney is treating their passholders so poorly.

No, I will still buy one because I'm sure I will get my money's worth out of it each year.

The discounts are a pain, but......the AP will still be worth it!
