Will the new AP rates dissuade you from buying an AP in the future?

The new AP program seems to be very restrictive. Will it dissuade you from buying/renewing an AP in the future?

Re: Will the new AP rates dissuade you from buying an AP in the future?

We have a condo in St. Petes and basically do a day trip to Disney each time down. However, that said, in the past, with AP room rates, we always spent the nite. We may just pack it in and drive the 95 miles back home at the end of the day and for go paying through the nose for a bed. I'm one of the Probably Not, I go to much category. Also, I don't know what will happen to Florida rates too. I've used my Florida discount about 25% of the time for room rate discounts too.

I think we will still get APs... I just might stay off site or do more day trips if the discount is as restrictive as it looks.

The room discounts don't really affect me since we're DVC members. We get a discount on the AP, too, & since we generally go twice in a calendar year it's still more economical for us.

It doesn't really effect me. I wasn't planning on staying onsite that much anyway.

I'd been thinking about it depending on when my 2006 trip is going to be, but now it looks like a lot more trouble than it's worth.

We were planning to buy Ap's at the end of this year for our 3 week trip in December and our 1 week trip next december, and we will probably still do so but we may have to re-think which hotel we stay in if there are no discounts!

There are to many restrictions on the AP now. I don't see the point in renewing mine. I will go back to the package deals and hope for a decent deal. I will be able to get the meal plan with the package too and that appeals to me. Disney is making it a pain to be an AP holder.

I agree. I don't see me renewing my AP. I am not even sure I will take a second trip on the one I have. I can't book 120 days out and risk about $200 in a nonrefundable deposit, that's just crazy. A package or room only looks like it will work the best for us from now on.

Bad AP rates will be a good excuse to see the Grand Canyon.

I think a lot of people are thinking the same thing. We have skipped the beach for a few years and have gone to WDW, we may head back to the beach next summer. Who knows.

Re: Will the new AP rates dissuade you from buying an AP in the future?

I wonder how many folks will take it personally and stay away from Disney because they appear to be demonstrating a lack of customer loyalty??

I doubt this will effect 1st time business, but it sure as heck may hurt repeat business.

The AP worked out great for admission for me this year. I went twice and did receive a great discount for my January trip. I don't feel cheated with this AP, but will not be newing under these new restrictions. I can't afford to lose a deposit either. I feel so bad for the people who just bought the AP and now are uncertain what they are entitled to under this new plan. I don't intend to go back twice in one calender year again, so AP's don't even make sense to me. I wish they would give the official word or let us know what to expect for the end of October. I'm at a stale mate until then. I cannot stand the not knowing.

They are sounding more and more like the airlines industry with this one. That's absurd. Plans change. Disney should be able to accommodate that within reason. NO refund period is not being accommodating.
