I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think my best friend thought I was a little crazy (in a good way). Someone else will have to confirm or deny if they're doing it at WDW, but I got it several times at Disneyland.

Did they greet you this way at your resort hotel or as you entered DL? We have been to DL since the celebration began but have not had a chance to stay overnight yet. Of course we live 20 minutes away

I voted "probably not" because I would go anyway. The celebrations just add to the experience!

We would go anyway but the special events make our vacations even more magical. It is always fun to look forward to something new everytime we go.

Let's see..... Yup. I'd go to WDW if the wind blew in the right direction.

Resort hotel, I wish! We stayed at the Marriott.

I got it going in the main gate (YAY!) one of the two days we went, and then another time when it was really out of the blue, either leaving a ride or a store or a meal... I don't remember exactly. But I still loved it. I also loved the group of CMs on top of the berm as the park closed waving good-bye and saying things like, "Thanks for coming! Hope we see you again soon!"

Have I mentioned I am sappy?

Actually, I realize that I should have voted differently. Because after seeing the Happiest Celebration once, I have decided that I absolutely have to go back before the end of next year, because DH MUST see those spectacular fireworks and experience the celebration for himself. Going back to the park will just have to be a sacrifice I make for him.

We cannot go that often, the celebrations definitely motivate us to save up and go sooner than we plan so I would say yes.

No. If we can afford to go and can get the days off, we go, regardless of what event is going on.

They did not welcome us home at the Poly, but when we got to the AKL, they sure did. And it tickled me pink!

I go whenn I can afford to or pry the money out of my wife's hands to allow us to go. Before we had our little one and a house we were able to vacation where and when we wanted. I miss those days . . . Being an adult stinks . . . (ooo New Thread!)

Re: Do the special events like "Happiest Celebration on Earth" bring you to Disney?

We have been on several celebration occasion years--Mickey's 50th birthday, DW 25th anniversary, now they are celebrating 30 years of the TTA. So there's always something special going on there. If Disney isn't celebrating something when we go, we usually are,(hubby's birthday,or daughters high school graduation). I was sad in thinking since we went to WDW in Jan. we could probably only afford one Disney trip this year..and I would miss the 50th celebration, but when I found out it was extended till April of next year I said" California here we come". So we are going to catch the tail end of that celebration.
