That was my fave, too! Well, only because it was my VERY FIRST VISIT to WDW EVER! (DH's, too...we were only dating then)

As far as celebrations having an influence on when I go, I say PROBABLY NOT. I would be going anyway. However, I do LOVE WDW at Christmas time and will probably go every year at that time!

My first trip to WDW was in 1978 as a nine year old. I don't remember, although I must have been aware at the time, that there was a major celebration going on at the time, Mickey's 50th Birthday. My mother still has the pictures in a photo album from that trip, and sure enough, the pics of the parade show the characters all decked out with party hats all celebrating Mickey's 50th.

Unfortunately, I didn't make it to any of the Disney Parks to celebrate Mickey's 75th in 2003, but I hope I'm there for his 100th!!

One year we went down in October for the Food Festival. OMG!! Unbelievable time... Now I look more for the upcoming events. I would have to say yes to "Special Events"!!!

We haven't made a decision in the past to go during a certain "celebration" but are happy we're taking a trip during the YOMD

I would have to say probably not, since we would go anyway. But, the Special Events and Celebrations just make it that much more worth while.
