Do the special events like "Happiest Celebration on Earth" bring you to Disney?

Disney has special events every couple of years that last about 18 monhts. The current one is Happiest Celebration on Earthc, for Disneyland's 50th birthday. Do these special events bring you to Disney?

We were not planning a trip to Disneyland this summer, but the celebration got the best of us, and we are going in August I think if it weren't the HCOE we most likley would have ended up somewhere else this summer as we are planning a WDW trip in the winter.

We specifically go to WDW in the off season because of the heat and crowds. As much as we would like to go to the special events we pass and wait for a less crowded time.

Probably not, we would go anyways... but it's made our plans for DL this fall that much better!

CaraMia, the "events" take place in the off season too. Look how long WDW's 30th anniv lasted... more than a year. We're going to DL this fall because it's the off season but the Happiest Celebration on Earth will still be in full swing and even still in Nov. when we return to WDW for the F&W fest.

Probably not, we would go anyway. It's a great extra but it wouldn't get us to WDW if we didn't already have plans to go.

I would go anyway. Usually I don't care much about the special stuff, but I completely embraced this "Happiest Celebration On Earth", sometimes to the point of happy tears at hearing "Welcome Home". Because I am sappy that way, and because it had been nearly two years since my last visit.

We see it as "an excuse" to plan a trip....as if anyone needs an excuse.......

We hadn't planned to go last year, but I convinced my husband because I was getting so excited about the Food and Wine Festival. If we don't go out of town for Thanksgiving, I might be able to do the same thing with the first half of December.

We go anyway - I'd love to plan a trip around some things - mostly the Food and Wine Festival - but we always go in January or February.

I said probably not because we would go anyway. BUT, we do try to go during the fall because of crowd levels and the Food and Wine Festival.

OMG! I didn't know that they are say "Welcome Home". I am pretty sappy too so it may bring me to happy tears as well.

Re: Do the special events like "Happiest Celebration on Earth" bring you to Disney?

I guess I win the prize for most cynical--as of now I'm the only one who voted, "Not at all, I don't even pay attention to them."

Actually, this is only true *before* I go. I'm perfectly happy to enjoy them while I'm there, but too many other factors play into when we decide to go.

(Also, I must admit that I feel like there will always be *something* Disney's celebrating? Am I too cynical? )

For me, the place is magical under any circumstances!
