I buy them for my nieces and reward them with them. This way they have their own money to spend when we go next!

We used to get them for the kids when they were younger. They would take them out, count them, dream of the trip, dream of the things they would buy...now they get the room key to use. Sigh, they seem to grow so fast.

I would have them carry their purchases, too,but they are so used to carrying a heavy book bag at school, it wouldn't be much of a deterrent, hehehehehe.

I use them as rewards for tasks around the house for about 6 months before our trip. That was my 2 little kids can save some money for the trip and they really enjoy saving the dollars. I know you can use regular money, but it doesn't have Mickey's picture on it. Also, my kids would want to spend the regular dollars before we ever got there.

I had to vote 'Sometimes.' I used to buy them before every Disney trip, but since we don't have any Disney stores up here....I can't.

I get them as change and save them or give them to friends :) I did give the girls a bunch of disney $$'s that we had saved up ..after all, most of them had come from stroller rentals back when the girls were little :)

I don't buy Disney dollars as we are in the UK and the disney store over here doesn't sell them! We do buy dollars for our girls in much the same way some of you buy DD for you children. As our girls can't spend them here it is a great way for them to save for the trip!

I did, when we had a Disney Store. We don't anymore, so it is pretty hard to.

We go to Disney every year in January, so the kids ask for them for Christmas, and are soooooo excited when they see them. It makes the magic of Christmas roll right into the magic of the trip!
