The least expensive way to buy a share is to open an account at www.sharebuilder.com I have an account with them, it costs $4 per trade, the stock is currently, as of 11/1, trading at $24.61, it is actually up the past few days, no where near the glory days of the early to mid 90's when it was at $100+. Once you own 10 shares you can have Sharebuilder issue you a certificate, which there may be a charge for, and you can then register and use www.DisneyShareholder.com on that site you can buy more shares monthly and have the dividends reinvested in more stock, it won't be much but it is something, Sharebuilder will also reinvest dividneds if you chose that option.

I do!
 My grandparents bought shares for me and my brother a few years back. It's so cool to feel like you own a part of Disney... and to get that big shareholder report (or whatever it is) every once in a while.

Bought 100 shares in 2002 when the price was down at $15. To bad I didn't have more faith in Vivendi when the price dropped to $11. I would have more than made back my loss when it fell from $80. I also own GE, which means I own Universal as well.

I plan to get some D-stock and Pixar in the future. My dd believes that being owners in DVC that we own a piece of Disney, at least the property anyway.

We have owned it now for 2 stock splits!!!!! We also own a lot of Euro-Disney stock
 Which has done nothing over the years... I keep on hoping though!!

We own Disney stock and have chosen to have our dividends reinvested. My DD got one share that is framed for her birthday when she was 7. Ds owns one share of Pixar that is framed. DH bought our stock as an anniversary gift for me several years ago. He figured that since I spend so much money on Disney that we might as well own a piece of it and get some of our money back.

I used sharebuilder and at the time it was $4.00 per transaction and you could buy just one share for market price plus the $4.00... but you do not get a certificate. but you do own the stock and get stock reports....
