I'm not really surprised at all!!! If you read the reply's most people love both hotels. I was one of the people who said that. They are both gorgeous!!!! I've stayed at both numerous times and it's really hard to pick one over the other. But the deciding factor to me is the monorail system, the view from the Poly is better, you can see the fireworks sitting on the beach, you can't beat it. To me the restaurants are great in both, the atmosphere is unbeleivable in both, there really is just a slim margin for the reasons I've stated above.

We haven't stayed at either but have always wanted to stay at the Poly so that was our pick

I love 'em both, but I'd vote for the Poly by a nose. The themeing and architecture are amazing in both. Poly wins out for location.
But the main reason I voted for the Poly was for it's status as one of the original MK resorts. And one that evokes great memories and feelings of WDW in it's early years.

I really love both hotels - but I voted for Polynesian. The advantage it has is the transportation. It seemed to take forever to get to places from the WL. There is nothing better than monorail access!!!

I haven't stayed there in forever. Do they still have the Electric Light Show float across the lagoon? You could see it from some of the rooms at the Poly!
