Which resort is Disney' most romantic place to stay?

If you were going to WDW, and you wanted it to be the most romantic trip imaginable, which resort would you choose to stay at, and why?

Polynesian

I voted for the Poly, just because we spent our honeymoon in Hawaii, and it would be romantic to have that reminder staying there. Also, they have great views of the MK.

I vote GF

I have a bias for this one since I was married there. The whole atmoshphere is just so romantic, in my opinion. It is like you are taken back in time when there were "ladies and gentlemen".

I didn't know that. Was that before the new Wedding Chapel, or after? I watched the Travel Channel show on the GF, and the wedding chapel is beautiful. Never been inside it before.

I couldn't even imagine being married at the GF. Simply amazing! GF gets my vote.

I have never gotten to do this, but I think I would like to stay at the Polynesian, and be able to watch the MK fireworks from the beach. That sounds SO romantic. *sighs* Actually, any resort without kids sounds romantic to me.:angel But except for my honeymoon I can't imagine not ever taking my daughter to WDW when I would go. I guess they do have the babysitting service :)

ohhh yes they have wonderful in-room sitters and the child care centers like at the Poly (neverland club) the poly is nice real nice .. I am like you ..we cant imagine going with out the girls..ok ok so we have imagined it but we know we would miss them and they would prolly never forgive us I voted other ..because to me the CBR is very very romantic .. that lake in the center ..the walk way around the resort ..the area around the main pool at night. It always takes my breath away at night.

Something really sad is we actually spent our honeymoon at the CBR 10 years ago (March 28) and didn't really even see our resort. We were either at the parks or in the room. We did have drinks one evening at the food court place (can't remember the name of the restaurant), and I swear I thought I could see the lazers from Epcot. Of course the drink was really fruity, sweet, delicious AND strong, so I'm not absolutely positive that is what I saw ;)

Re: Which resort is Disney's most romantic place to stay?

I voted GF since in order for me to stay there I would have to be with someone wealthy so I can only imagine what other treats would be in store... unfortunately my romance is limited to an All Star resort....that says a lot!

I voted Polynesian. I'm partial, we spent our honeymoon there way back in 1987, but to me it is a very romantic resort.

Wow, this thread is from 2002 and I never voted on it until now? Crazy...

Gotta say the Polynesian for me. I know that a lot of families stay there, but to me it is just quintessential romance. I would do ANYTHING to stay there with my hubby someday.

I, too, voted POLY. We stayed there once and I thought this resort was INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Especially walking around at night with the Tiki Torches lighting the way.....LOVE IT! And don't forget about watching the fireworks and the Electric Water Parade from the beach or your room....PRICELESS!!!!!

Re: Which resort is Disney's most romantic place to stay?

I haven't stayed at the GF but I've been in it many times. It just has the air of romance and sophistication all around it. Then given the fact that the Wedding Pavillion is there as well just makes it even more so. I hope that one day I have the opportunity to stay at this beautiful resort.

Re: Which resort is Disney's most romantic place to stay?

I never saw this thread but I love it 'cause we all know couples can have JUST as wonderful of a time in WDW as families can. DH and I have been going to WDW together since we started dating in 1999 and have stayed at NEARLY all of the resorts listed in the poll. I am going to have to vote Polynesian. Especially with a lagoon/MK view room. It is just so peaceful, lush, and romantic all over that resort. It kinda reminds you of being on an exotic honeymoon somewhere tropical.

I just could never choose Grand Floridian b/c it reminds me of my Grandma AKL and WL just remind me too much of adventurous travels, BW & Beach Club are just so family oriented, bright & busy, and Contemporary is just too modern & angular to be THAT romantic.

Yeah, Polynesian!
