When do you start planning your trip?

Most of us here are serious disney planners. When do you start planning for your next big trip?

I usually start thinking about my next one right before my trip...I have dates in mind before I go on my current trip. I also start thinking about where to stay at this point. I book about a month after a get home from a trip....I am constantly in WDW planning mode...lol

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

For me, it's about 8-10 months before I go. Though I may think about a trip long before then, I don't actually put stuff into action until around 8 months before.

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

right after I get home..usually i keep it to myself because dave is too "disney-ed out" we used to go on one trip and then turn around and go back a few months later but i guess responsibility has gotten the better of us and now we only plan on taking a trip per year....boo...

The minute we hit the road home I begin to start thinking about when we can go again and what we will do, lol

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

We go around the same time each year.. it is pretty much a given. We have been so many times.. that we already know our plans. The only real question is usually where to stay. We try to stay at a new resort each year, to enjoy a new experience.

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

Right after we get home! I always like to have something to look forward to. Planning is half the fun of it! We talk about where we want to stay next time, where we want to eat, etc.

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

Well, as far as dates for the next potential trip I usually have a vauge idea when we'll go next soon after we return home. I usually BOOK a trip 7-8 months prior, and I start PLANNING things around the 180 day mark when I can make ADRs.

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

I start planning about 6 months before the trip. Of course I check the Disney site periodically and put together a non-reality trip several times a months.

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

You should have listed while on the current trip though. It drives my husband nuts that I am talking about future trips while we are still there.

I'm with Wish on this one. I usually get the hotel reservations earlier (up to a year in advance), but don't really start planning the details of the trip until 5-6 months prior.

I'm always thinking about a trip and some things we can do differently. I actually don't start planning until 6 months prior to the trip.

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

started planning shortly after we got home. Had my adr's ready waaaaay before the 180 day mark (and had backup adr plans, just in case), & now I am 118 days out & have my daily plans done (what areas in each park 1st, etc) & have a great packing list (thanks Dana for the help on mine).

Now, I just need to make my scrapbook/autograph book & get all the stuff I need & stuff for girls for the loooong car ride there. & pack, of course. THink I'll save that for a little bit closer (LOL)!

Re: When do you start planning your trip?

I'm ALWAYS thinkin' about the next trip, but to plan to far in advance seems futile what with everything that can change. 8-10 months seems more realistic. At least for us.
