Will you get the dining plan in 2008 at WDW?

Disney has made some significant changes to the Disney Dining plan for 2008. Will it change your plans?

I just don't know yet. we have never used the DDP before - and are trying (free) in September. I will be able to tell better after that if we really want that many sit down meals, or if we'd be better off just going on our own. I am super excited for this trip and all the food (and that's free) but am a bit concerned about all the time spent sitting in a restaurant/waiting for our table. we are usually commandos - so this will be a different trip for sure!

There was no option for did before but won't next year. We are going with out the DDP next year. The loss of the app and tip just make it not worth it for us and the deluxe is just too much food.

We absolutely LOVE the Disney Dining plan so we'll still book the basic plan and pay gratuity out of pocket, and just forget about the appetizer.

The deluxe plan would just be too much food for us, we usually just grab a banana or yogurt for breakfast.

We will still use the basic plan. We eat cereal in our room for breakfast. We didn't really care about the appetizer it made for too much food.

I dont mind seeing the app go with the new plan, the tip was a nice feature, you could go in and eat and not have to bring a dime. The deluxe seems like way to much food, i was always stuffed all day on the currecnt DDP, i just feel like the new basic one may not be enough or worth it. I will have to see next time i book my trip to make my final choice.

I don't think we'll use the plan again but mostly because my son will be counted as an adult next year and there's no way we'll ever come out ahead paying $40 a day for him to eat fries. Taking the tip out would make me think about giving it up but I would still think about it and run the numbers and see how much we would save or lose. I wish they would give a choice of dessert or appetizer, I like both depending on my mood.

I like having everything pay for before our trip but there is no way we could eat all the food on the deluxe plan. I was always stuffed with the old plan, I couldn't eat more than that. I would feel like we were doing nothing but eating all the time. The DDE card is looking good right now.

We are trying it for the first time this Sept. for free. As that price is hard to beat, I will have to see how it goes.

We may do it again next year, I will have to see after we use it this trip.

My option isn't up there

I am using the DDP for the first time in November. We'll see how I like it then. It will determine what I'll do next time.

Personally I am excited about the deluxe plan, because I would do a bunch of signature dining experiences

So, still two meals a day, just a little more exciting food for dinner

Between Disney Reward $$ and our DDE discount it really doesn't make sense for us...especially since we don't like to be limited. We like to get a bottle of wine and/or drinks and sometimes we just like to do appetizers so we prefer to be much more flexible. Just not worth the hassle to us.

We haven't had the opportunity to try it before (just started they DVC package after we last visited) but were thinking about trying it in 2008. with all the changes, we're going to have to take pen to paper to see what will work out better for our family finance and flexibility wise. We'll make the decision closer to our arrival date...but at this point I'd have to say I doubt if we do it. I'd go with the DDE again without much hesitation tho...especially with the AP discount.

It is! We love to eat but by the end of our last 2 trips we were sort of fooded out. By the end of our trip last year we ate more because we had to than because we wanted to.
