Which Disney Vacation Club would you like to own?

Disney is rapidly expanding it's Vacation Club choices. Most of which are located at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Which DVC would you like to own the most, regardless of cost?

I voted for Beach Club Villas. I think you get the best of both worlds there. You are secluded from the noise of the Boardwalk, yet close enough to walk there in 5 minutes. You are also close to EPCOT, and have access to one of the best pools around. I understand that most rooms will have views of EPCOT as well. Illuminations from your deck.

Wow! I was wicked surprised when I saw that 100% of the votes were for the Beach Club Villas until I noticed that only two of us had voted (so far). I had to decide between Boardwalk and the Beach Club; I am sort of partial to both. I finally selected BC because they are the newest. I like the close proximity to Epcot and I have always enjoyed the atmosphere at both the BC and Boardwalk.

Vero Beach

We stayed at Vero Beach once. We were lucky enough to have been upgraded to a three bedroom cottage. It was great!!!!!! I love Vero Beach. We had a fun time. If I were buying more DVC, Vero would be my first choice.

Boardwalk Villas

I never stayed there, but I love the Boardwalk.
And as a Jersey Girl, I must support it!:)

The first time I saw Wilderness Lodge I said "One day, I'm going to stay here." Now, I have a DVC points there, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Biased response

I fell in love with the Boardwalk at night when I experienced it in March. I would not be too happy with any disruptive noise but it seemed so perfect! So Disney!

To be honest, I have not checked out any other DVC sites. Until I got info from this board I thought for sure they would just be a typical time share.

I actually voted for none of the above. My reason is that, when I'm at WDW, I want to spend all my energy in the parks. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but at the DVC resorts, there are no restaurants or maid service. If I'm right, I just would rather go to the "regular" resorts, as those services are important to me. If I'm wrong, then forget that I even voted! :) :D

Well, that is partially true. Old Key West is really the only stand alone DVC at WDW, and it has a full service restaurant in Olivia's. All the other DVCs at WDW are attached to a deluxe resort, and therefore have restaurants. One advantage to staying in a villa is the kitchen. We eat breakfast in the villa most mornings, and that eliminates the need for a nearby restaurant. Vero Beach and Hilton Head both have at least one restaurant.

As far as maid service goes, it is available at DVC resorts. If you are staying there as a paying guest, then maid service is just like any other resort. As a member, it is not included, but that is to reduce the annual maintenance fees for members, and is well worth it. They do deliver towels every couple of days, and will do a linen change if staying more than a week. You can also pay extra and have full maid service.

Look at it this way. During Adventure Season (low season), we can stay in a two bedroom villa at OKW for twelve days for about $1,650, which is roughly our cost for the points used. To pay for that same room, it would run about $5,628 plus 11% tax, or about $6,250. So, I save over $4,500 to do my own maid service, or I could pay $35 per day, and have full maid service. Even with the additional $400 for maid service, I am way ahead. Plus, if you are in the parks all day, how dirty can your room get? For us, DVC allows us to return to WDW on a regular basis. I don't think we could afford to go nearly as often if we didn't own DVC.

Thanks for the correction, Mickey. We already have our ressies for this year, but you've definitely given me something to think about for next time. Your brain has got to be hard-wired to WDW-how else could you expound on almost every subject posted? Then again, I guess that's why you started DC. Thanks again,:) :) :)

We bought into SSR. DW loves BWV right now. We have not stayed at SSR, it is still under construction in some areas.

Re: Which Disney Vacation Club would you like to own?

Hehe, I am glad MJD reserected this thread b/c I got a real kick out of seeing "Disney Institute Villas!" hehe! I got the chance to stay at the Disney Institute when I was in HS and took some cool animation class, cooking class, and a topiary class where I got to make a mini Mickey topiary. I think the Disney Institute is one of those lost gems of WDW's past.

Anyway, I own at SSR but if I had to choose a different one it would definately be Boardwalk Villas! I LOVE it there and I would LOVE to have the "11 month home resort priority' there When it comes down to it, I am just ESTATIC that I am a member period, wherever my home resort may be

We already own at SSR but we would love to have some points at VWL. We stayed there last December and just loved it.
