Now that we're DVC members it will always be deluxe resorts, but I have to admit I'm pretty spoiled & would probably not do anything besides deluxe anyway. We love to eat well, too, but then who can pass up a hot dog at Casey's? Or a turkey leg at MGM? Or a sandwich at Pizzafari? I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!!!

I chose other because my Father-in-law works for Disney, so most of the time we stay with him. It's free, and that is my favorite price. :laugh We do stay at the resorts sometimes, just so we can still enjoy that part of the WDW experience though. I've never stayed at a deluxe resort yet, but hope to in the future. We normally mix up where we eat.

I answered value resorts with deluxe/value meals.. that's today's reality for me. To me, the resort is just someplace to sleep.

That said, if I HAD a little extra money, it would be nice to stay at the Contemporary or one of the Boardwalk resorts to be just a little closer for midday naps.

So, similar to someone else's post, what I can afford and what I'd prefer are not necessaryily the same. ;)

Someday, I'll splurge on the Grand Floridian. Now THAT'S Disney style! :)

Last time we went in Oct. 2003, it was mod. resort with deluxe meals. However, now that we have DVC , I couldn't figure out if that was deluxe or home away from home (which wasn't on the list), so I answered other. Because we would still be eating deluxe meals - we aren't value meal people.

Also, I was torn about the historic aspect because when I was a child and we stayed at Disney, the only resorts to stay at were poly, CR, Treehouses and Fort Wilderness, and I have stayed at all three of those. The only other resort that we have stayed at is POR and that was last year.

What can I say I'm a snob - :D

I spent 1 night at All-Star Music - they wanted us to change rooms 2 times -(we were going to be there for 7 nights ) No no - I don't need that. I went to the front desk and told them I wanted to go to another hotel (we would of course have to pay the differance in price) Well they sent us to the Yacht Club -

Then another time we made reservations at Caribbean - We got there and there was a really long line to check in - DH didn't want to stay so we moved to the Poly -

I've tried I just can't stay anywhere else

That's why we had to join the DVC

We are new Dvc members, too. We will be staying at SSR this year for the first time, and I can't wait. However, I still liked POR and I would stay there again. It was nice, quiet, and picturesque, and all of the CMs were very nice and accommodating and the food was good.

I just can't wait to see what it is like to stay at Disney as a member of the Vacation club. My DD can't wait either. We'll bestaying in a 2 bedroom and it will be a whole new experience for us than we have ever had before.

DVC resorts are great - There's a whirlpool tub - Which is great after a long day.

We will be staying in a handicapped room and my parents have dibbs on the master bedroom and bath. I am not sure how it is set up in a handicapped room. We have to have a Handicapped accessible room because my stepfather needs to use a scooter. But I do know that the bath in the room that my DD and I will share is not handicapped equipped, because my mother asked. So, I think that things will be a little different in our room than in a regular room.

Re: How do you prefer to vacation at WDW?

I had to vote other. Since we purchased DVC, there is no other way to experience WDW....

Prefer and afford are worlds apart!!!!!

I'd prefer to be catered to my every whim.

I afford the cheapest rate we can find.
