When you retire, which WDW job would you rather have?

So many of us dream of retiring, moving to a Del Boca Vista clone in Orlando, and working at Walt Disney World. Which of these jobs would you prefer?

I would love to drive the Monorail...get to meet all the families. Answer all the kids questions. Great views at every ride. Can anyone think of a downside?

I would love to drive the monorail and meet all the families. I would love to try and answer all the questions that one would ask me. The last time I rode up front with the driver I asked him some questions and I knew more about WDW then he did!! :D :) Joe

I voted Resort Front Desk. Just to share in the excitement of people checking in for their 1st day at WDW. Plus being able to make some dreams come true with some upgrades and such. Plus this way I would be inside in the air conditioning during the hot summer months.

I would want to be the driver of the monorail. I am just fascinated every time I am on that "ride'. I would love to see the smiles on the faces of the lucky riders that are able to ride in the first seat. What a cool way to see the fireworks! We had the opportunity one evening to watch part if the show from the monorail and it was awesome.

If the monorail (where the driver sits) isn't isn't air conditioned enough then perhaps I would have to consider another position.
And my choice wasn't listed. I would get a kick out of working at the toy store at Disney Market place where they are usually test marketing the possibility of a new toy or game.

Do any of you remember the tiny, tiny disney pieces that were sold a few in a bag....and there was a display showing the sets available. We were so into those.....we got so good at feeling the packages to determine if they had the pieces we needed.
By the time we were finished, we had a complete set.
Thats probably were I would be....feeling those packages and completing other sets.
Does anyone know if these are still being sold?

Monorail driver!!! It would be so wonderful to see all of those kids' faces when they get to ride in the front with you...

But if I had a second choice, it would be "who cares?" because after all, it's WDW! And I intend to be working there until they FORCE me to retire, just like they did to poor Roy!

I said gardner, although the monorail sounds fun as well. I've spent so much time photographing the flowers around WDW that I think I could enjoy keeping them looking perfect for others to enjoy.

My husband has always said he would like to be the Matre'd (sp??) at The Brown Derby. He is quite personable and figures he could make good tips. I'd just like to be a street sweeper. Sounds like I have low goals, but I figure I could talk with the guests, get a little exercise and keep things neat. The costumes aren't too hot and I'd get a tan. The monorail driver sounds good too though.

I voted other... I want to be a Character SOOOOO bad. Any one would be fine. I would get to act all silly and know one would know it was me :D The interaction with the kids would be so cool! To see the reactions/faces of the kids when they saw their favorite character!

I think about it and I get all warm and fuzzy inside, just making someone so happy!!!!! :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :) :D

Rafikiman & I have actually had this conversation many times & I've always said I'd like to work at the front desk of a resort. Right now I work in a credit union & I love the interaction with people & the problem solving always keeps me on my toes. I almost went with monorail driver, but I know long term I'd rather be a little more challenged.
