ok I didnt know if we could pick two so I had a tough choice but I posted on WL I love the theming of it and its so close to MK that the boat ride to and from is so peaceful I just love the pool and the geyser definately a romantic hotel for me since it was my honeymoon resort ( someday I will go back )

also if I could have posted a second choice it would have to be Port Orleans French Quarter I love this place it reminds me of Louisiana and its small and cosy

It is a tough question. It all depends on what the person wants to spend!!!! Of course I love the AKL!!!!!:) JOANN

Voted for Boardwalk since it's really our favorite. We love the whole atmosphere of being right on the Boardwalk & the convenience of being walking distance from both EPCOT & MGM. You really feel like you're in the middle of things that way.

Caribbean Beach. Inexpensive rooms with a delux feel.... Great place the kids loved it.....

Re: Which would you recommend for a first timer to WDW?

I picked POP
the costs associated with Disney can be very overwhelming to someone that has never been. This would make it affordable and magical at the newer value resort and then as they see that there is bigger and better out there they can make adjustments based on that for their next trip. Personally we liked the value of pop much better than what we felt we got for both POR and CBR.. AKL was nice and all and the pool was fancy but the truth is that for how much we paid for it - I was not crazy impressed. It was fun but it was more like a "been there done that" feeling when we left. Im hesitant to pay for another deluxe since that one seemed too much like a moderate to me and I think I might be disappointed in the other deluxe properties. A first timer could walk away feeling ripped off.

Re: Which would you recommend for a first timer to WDW?

I have to go with Pop for value, POFQ for moderate (that one we loved, and considered staying there again this year, but we didn't like POR - mold in our room - eeeewwww), and for delux I'm a Contemporary girl - we like the walk over to MK.

Woohoo, a lot of people consider the AKL and WL to be "moderate deluxes": they're just a hair below the quality of the other deluxe properties. I think if you stayed at a different deluxe you would probably be pleased...although, the price does change based on the property, so there's always going to be a "value-for-your-money" issue.

Something like being on the monorail, though, is absolutely priceless in my book. If I could afford to stay at a monorail property all the time, I probably would!

Re: Which would you recommend for a first timer to WDW?

We love POR, it's quiet, beautiful, and has nice pools, good restaurants, and a game room. The boat to Downtown Disney is a plus, and the several bus stops around the resort makes it easy to get to the parks. It was where we stayed on our first trip and we immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. We've stayed at several others, but we keep going back to POR.

Re: Which would you recommend for a first timer to WDW?

The answer would really depend on my friend's situation. If they're looking for a value resort I would definitely say POP Century. For the moderate category I would go with the Coronado Springs. For the deluxe resort I really enjoyed the Contemporary Resort. For the "wish I could affort it category" I would say Grand Floridian.

That's exactly what I would choose too. I figured that people that go for the first time might have small children. The All Star Movies is great for little kids. It is also a good value.

I liked the Poly the best though. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is wonderful, you can watch the fireworks from the beach, and the rooms are very nice. It also has a huge perk with the monorail.

DS(11) liked the CR the best.

I voted for Boardwalk because I love it, but I've never gotten to stay there. I think it looks like sooo much fun!!!
