I chose EPCOT basing it someone going to WDW who has already been to Disneyland. Plus it's my favorite WDW park.

Most of my friends that ask that question have small kids and my answer is usually Downtown Disney. I think the first day there is so busy with travel and the excitement of check in that it's nice to go to DtD and see the shops and ride the carousel and train and take in a nice meal. Then I reccomend touring the resort areas and possibly go for a swim while either mom or dad unpack. Then... dinner at Chef Mickey's and a tour on the monorail is always a great start! And, getting a good nights sleep for the first big day at the parks is a huge bonus!

MK is just the epitome of MAGIC!!! If that doesn't start anyone's trip off perfectly I don't know what would. It's ALWAYS our first stop. That first walk down Main Street always makes me teary!

MK All the Way

It HAS to be MK. It's where it all began.

All Disney Magic germinates from the MK.

LOL, glad to see MK is winning by a landslide! It would definitely have to be MK in my opinion. After all, it's the original Disney experience. There is just nothing else like it. (Which is why I always feel the need to start my trip @ MK. Anywhere else would feel wrong!)

It isn't just Magic Kingdom but also the way you choose to get there too.

First time at WDW ? Don't drive. Don't take the bus. Don't even go by monorail.

You just have to get on the Ferry and as you come around the bend in the water and see Cinderella's castle rising high above the trees just take a second to look around you........everybody's face is smiling with anticipation. It's the greatest feeling as you disembark and go through those gates , pass under the rail track and see Main Street laid out before you. It's truly awesome.

Please , please.......Don't deny yourselves the Disney WOW factor............go to Magic Kingdom first.

1st Trip -1st Park

I think the best way to start is with Epcot. If you begin around lunchtime you can have lunch at the Garden Grille. It gives the kids and yourselves an immediate character experience and the food is great. The kids are also not hungry anymore. Since you have preplanned your way around each park you know where you want to go next, and what time the charcters come by caravan. This helps the kids get through the parts of Epcot that may not interest them. They are also looking forward to the Magic Kingdom. Come back on another night for Illuminations. Coming from upstate NY we arrive around 11am, leave our bags at the hotel, and head directly to Epcot. I have been to WDW 4 times, twice the 3rd week of August, once the second week of September and once the second week of December. I am going back this year the 3rd week of October, and plan to do the same thing. This has woked very well for kids or mr/dd individuals.

Oh, I have to second this suggestion...just reading it made me teary! This is the way I first experienced the MK at WDW. My family took the ferry, and I will never, EVER forget watching Cinderella's Castle in the distance as it grew closer and closer. It was a feeling that will stick with me forever!

MK most definately! I love all the parks(minus the water parks which we never go to) but there is just something about MK that makes your heart skip a beat and puts you on cloud 9 like none of the other parks can do!

First time visitors must go where it all began at Magic Kingdom.Seeing Cinderellas Castle for the first time in person. Nothing like.
