Which park would you recommend as their first stop for first time visitors?

Four parks, a shopping area and other fun things. Where to go first?

I would have to say the MK. Nothing beats the view of the castle as you come down Main Street for the first time. It is the heart of the Magic. It was the first park my DD wanted to spend her first day at when she came to WDW for the first time in Oct. 2003, and I guess it is a sentimental favorite for me because it is the park I grew up in and the only one that was there throughout my entire childhood, and I have to say honestly that it truly is the one that I love the most.

I always feel like I'm coming home when I walk through the gates of MK, so the MK gets my vote for sure. Hands down!!

:) :) :) :)

I'd probably say MK, but it depends on the group. If there's young children involved, then I think MK is the best first stop. I recommend DD for first day arrivals so you don't have to use a whole park day on a ticket -- the recommendation would hold for 1st time visits too. I think MK and Epcot are the most amazing of all of the parks, so it should definitely be one of those -- I'd say MK before Epcot as I think MK is the most "Disney", but then again, maybe the other way around so that Epcot and the others aren't a "let down" after MK and so that the others are leading up to the saved-the-best-for-last MK.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say to not do MK first if you have young ones with you. They might resist going to any other park once they experience MK. We're bringing my three-year-old niece for her first time in May and are saving MK for the last of four days.
Also, for first park day, it depends on which day you get there and if you are staying on grounds. Park hours, crowds, and EE should be taken into consideration.

I said MGM because I don't have any real small children. DGD is 10 and she loves the TOT and RnRC.
I think it would make someone think all the parks are as crowded as MK if they went there first.

I have been to WDW 5 times and without a doubt we start every trip at the MK. It is without a doubt what the magic of Disney is all about. Just thinking about walking down Main street and looking in the candy shop and seeing the people taking pictures in front of the castle and having breakfast at the Crystal Palace it just doesn't get any better then that regardless of the age of the visitor. I can't wait to go back.

The Magic Kingdom has all of that magic that makes WDW wonderful. When most people think of WDW, they think of the MK. It has the great rides and wonderful experiences that you will remember forever:)

MK!!! It's the heart and soul of WDW! A first timer needs that glimpse of the castle and that walk down main street....sigh...I still remember my first trip down Main street...

I still love MK, but now always start my trips in MGM, but that's only because I have to ride RnR and get my rush!!!:)

It would have to be MK if you have kids or not. It should be the first and last thing you do when visiting, this way the magic stays with you always
