Re: Disnatic's Weekly Trivia Challenge

Here are this weeks answers.

1. D-All of the above.
When WDW opened on 10/1/71, the only 2 resorts that were operational were the Contemporary an Polynesian Village Resorts (Now known as the Polynesian). Although it is often considered one of the original 3 that opened w/ the MK, Disney's Ft. Wilderness Resort did not open until November 19, 1971. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa opened as WDW's 5th resort hotel. Disney's Wilderness Lodge opened on May 28, 1994.

2. C-Bill Nye the Science Guy
CyberSpace Mountain, located in DisneyQuest, allows you to design your own virtual reality roller coaster, then ride the coaster you just created. Your host, TV's Bill Nye the Science Guy, guides you through the building portion, in which you design your custom coaster using a touch-screen monitor. Start by picking your environment (space, ice world etc.) then select the track pieces tht you want to ride on. Add as many loops, twists, and even jumps as you like! Then pick your speed and hop in the simulator, cause you're gonna ride the coaster you just created using virtual reality and motion simulation!

3. B-Roaring Rapids
If you enter the hotel lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you will notice a small, bubbling geyser. If you follow the path of the water, you will see that it travels undera small bridge and turns into a pebble bottomed stream outside, eventually crashing over a landscaped waterfall that empties into the pool. This water trail is known as "Roaring Rapids". However, things aren't always asthey seem @ WDW. Even though the spring in the lobby appears to travel all the way down to the pool, it doesn't. There are actually three separate water systems. The first feeds the geyser and empties into Bay Lake; the second begins at the spring and ends at the walkway near the pool's edge; and the thrd handles the actual pool water.

4. D-The European
The Asian, the Persian, and the Venetian were to be opened within a few years of Disney's Contemporary and Polynesian Resorts, which opened w/the Magic Kingdom in 1971. The Asian and Venetian REsorts were to be lcoated on the Seven Seas Lagoon, with the Asian sitting between Disney's Polynesian Resort and the Magic Kingdom, and the Venetian between Disney's Contemporary and the TTC. The Persian would have been on Bay Lake, northeast of Disney's Contemporary Resort.

5. D-Broadway @ the Top
The Top of the World (or Top of the World Supper Club) restaurant, located at the top of the Contemporary Resort, featured a dinner show and musical revue highlighting three decades of Broadway hits called "Broadway at the Top". Prior to this show debuting in 1981, the Top of the World featured performances by celebrity entertainers as well as dancing and a cocktail lounge. The Top of the World closed September 30, 1993, and reopened as the California Grille in May 1995. The Mesa Grande Lounge was the former name of the Top of the World Lounge. The Gulf Coast Room was a separate establishment that closed on May 28, 1988. It and the Top of the World Supper Club were 2 of the few WDW restaurants that required jackets for the men.

Well I hope everyone did well. Later on today I'll post next week's ?s since I won't be here and I will post the answers when I get home next Saturday.
Next week's question will all have to do with Epcot.
