What a great batch of solutions by everyone and congratulation to Aggie_10 for winning Task 1 (and great sloppy joe recipes Towncar_T, very tasty). I have to say I enjoyed reading each one of the responses.

On to task 2 --

Disney Central Apprentice Task 2:

Sticking with Epcot. Epcots Wonders of Life Pavilion is in desperate need of your help. Disney has put it at a seasonal attraction now, because the attendance wasn’t worth keeping it open. Decide on a new main attraction, and what else new you might incorporate into the Pavilion. You cannot change the theme of the Pavilion, but you can change the name to reflect the updating of the Pavilion.

I was going to say that we should display info on all the animals at the AK and also post recipes, but I guess the wonders of life is all about human life. Can't extend that concept at all.

Body Wars II - a little less turbulent and more interactive

The main attraction would be about a little boy or girl who is staying home from school sick. It is up to the riders to determine where the infection is and fight the bacteria to make him or her better. While looking for the bacteria, the rider would go through different parts of the body. More and more bacteria build up making the little boy or girl even more sick as the riders continue looking for the infection. The ride would be somewhere between a light roller coaster and a buzz lightyear ride. It would be gentle enough that riders 36inches and taller could ride but still have some sharp turns, ups and downs. The ride would have to be somewhat fast because you are in a hurry to find the infection. Once the bacteria was found, riders would have a gun or some other device to destroy it, maybe pistols that look like a shot needle or something like that. Throughout the ride, you are fooled because you think you have found the infection and you haven't. Riders shoot at the infection but they really have not found it, yet. Riders never know where the infection is because it changes from ride to ride. At the end of the ride, the rider has saved the day, and the boy or girl is feeling better.

Add a maze to the Wonders of Life.

The maze would be called All About Me or something like that, kind of a take on the Making of Me.

Guests would navigate the maze by answering questions about the organs of the body. Incorrect answers lead to dead ends and explanations. Correct answers are reinforced by leading guests closer to the end. Along the way, the maze will have interactive exhibits and experiences to make it more interesting and fun. The walkways would be made big enough that Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse can navigate it with guests. It would have some areas where kids could climb and go through tunnels but at the same time be built with an option for handicapped kids and parents who are unable or do not want to climb or go through tunnels.

Keep Coaches Corner & bikes, fitness oriented interactive exhibit.

One more smaller exhibit
Add an area on hygiene, washing hands, brushing teeth, keeping a nice appearance. Guests could get Mickey or other Disney Characters ready for their days via a computer game.

I would also include a gourmet sandwich, soup, and salad restaurant in this pavillion and gift shop.

Wow, let's see.
I would add a thrill ride of sorts. It would be a huge model of the human heart. The guests would take the same path blood would thru the heart complete with valves that open and close. There would also be a few areas were plague had built up and it would cause a pretty nice curve effect. The whole mission would be to find out if this "patient" has a blockage or not. Once you find the blockage you must create a bypass. The bypass would be a loop around the blockage! Just when you think you are going to hit the blockage boom your aroud it. The cue area would be all about your heart. The Imagineers could a nice job with this much better than me. This would replace body wars.

I would put in an interactive area for the kids (and big kids too). This would include life size organs that you could touch and feel (they wouldn't be real but I'm sure the imagineers could create something that was very close). There would be a slide (bare with me I know this sounds gross but think about how cool it would be) in the shape of the intestines! There would be a much more real and bigger version of the game Operation where you had to remove things without hearing the buzzer. There is so much more but I'm not sure it would all fit.

I would replace Making of Me with a show that included teaching a character about the human body. It would be interactive. I would have audience members pulled to dress up like parts of the body. In order to make somebody like Goofy understand these "parts" would have to do a song and dance. All the while your being funny but teaching about how we work.

This is just a few. Maybe this is lame but hey I think about what me and my 3 year old DD would enjoy!

OK here it goes. I will start out by saying that this is a tough one for me, because I am a fan of The Wonders Pavillion, as well as Body Wars. I can remember being very young, and we would head straight for Body Wars.

So with that said, we are going to be updating the Pavilion. The medical/health field had made great advances in recent years, and I am a strong believer in updating, instead of rebuiding. I think it helps to preseve some of those memories that people have made their over the years. So.....

I would hope that the Pavilion could become sponsored by a company such as Pfizer or Mreck, etc....

Body Wars- This would still be similar, you have to go in and explore the body. The ride would actually be lengthened signifigantly, to take aprox. 30 min. First, it would have a MUCH better pre-show, versus the current, where there is basically none. This would introduce the main characters in the plot line, and this would be similar to the RnR area, maybe we could bring in some well-known doctors, such as Ben Carson. If he was brought in, basically he would be preforming surgery, and would need our assistance, etc. You can get the picture from there. Also would be a post-attraction area, that would of course have a gift-shop as well as activities to "stretch the mind". This ride would become the new thrill ride to Epcot, and would be a mix of a 4D attraction, but still a Motion Simulator.

Cranium Command- This ride is something that I really like. Since Body Wars would be brain orietned, then this attraction would take on more of a heart health theme. LOL. sorry had to throw that one in there. Simialr to what is currently there.

Everything else- Everything else is out the door!!! I may love the pavilion but I understand the need for change. The theme inside would become less Early 90's and updated to today's colors etc. The biggest theme would be healthiness. One section would teach you how to excercise properly, and another to eat properly. Even offering a few healthy bites for free. Free food in WDW!!! That is bound to bring a large crowd. The Pavilion currently has many shows that you are open to come and go from. One would be geared more toward adults and would teach you how to cook healthier. Another would be more toward kids, and would include more characters. *Pick the movie that currently needs promo, and insert character *

Well, darn it. I missed out on the first task and now I'm stumped on this one. I absolutely love the other ideas people have put in so far.

I think I will amiably forfeit on this task. Frankly, I have only visited the Wonders of Life pavilion once, and don't feel familiar enough with it to know what to do!

But great ideas, everyone! I'm proud of this group of Honorary Imagineers.

I promise I'm still on board for future tasks.

Dznygrl, Im with you in everyway. I had the most perfect ideas for the 1st task and now Im stuck on this one. I have never been in the Wonders of Life Pavilion. Everytime we go to Epcot its either closed or we just dont go in it. So maybe the next task Ill have better luck at. :-)

Would just like to say...with the low participation in this task improves your odds at getting placed 3,2, or maybe even 1. Anyway just by posting a solution you get a point. Just some stuff to remember.

The basic problem with the Wonders of Life Pavillion is that it was never geared well towards a theme park. While Body Wars was a decent draw, some of the other elements of the Pavillion were under-developed. Whoever would have thought that learning about history, or where energy comes from or about farming would be interesting? And yet, SE, Ellen's Adventure and the Land continue to pack them in. WOL Pavillion needs better marketing.

First of all, it needs a sponsor. A large health insurance company comes to mind. Blue Cross or MetLife seem to be the most obvious.

The theme of the pavillion would be about a person named Jonas. From the minute you enter the Pavillion, you will be told about Jonas' background: who his parents are, where he's from, etc. There would be virtual reality activities throughout the pavillion where you could "experience" Jonas' life: first time walking, first time riding a bike, first time riding a roller coaster, first time driving a car, getting married, havings kids, etc.

Jonas grows up to be a senior scientist at one of the major drug companies (opportunity for a second sponsor). He would show us the major advances in medicine. And he would show how medicine is being used at hospitals throughout the world.

Body Wars should be changed. It would still be a virtual reality ride, but it would be better. There seem to be a lot of complaints about how turbulent the current ride is, so maybe the imagineers would make it comfortable and yet thrilling nonetheless (think RnRC)
The lead-in story/movie would be an Emergency Room (think ER) where there's a lot of riviting drama around a patient who comes into the ward having seisures due to a small, yet inoperable brain tumor. The patient is Jonas. The concept of the ride would be the same: get shrunk down, get into the brain where the tumor is, wipe out the tumor and get out.

After the ride, we would experience Jonas' recovery with a new 360-degree theatre of all the things that Jonas does after recovering - taking a helicopter rides, riding river rapids, hangliding and seeing his daughter graduate from high school.

It would be a total feel good experience about life and all the things that life has to offer.

If you haven't posted get your post in. If you are scared off look at your odds of placing. At this point we only have 4 Task post. A post will guarantee you 1 point but the odds are good that you could place at least 3rd (2 points) or better.

Give it your best shoot. This really isn't as hard as you think. There are a few good examples around WoLP to help you out.

And might I add...to you brave souls that have posted, once again I am impressed!
