What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you/someone else at WDW?
I have a friend that just returned and thought this might be some funny information to share, as well as making a good topic of conversation for others to share as well.
Friend had 3 yr old on first trip, they started day 1 with a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's, anyways when Pluto came to the table (3yr olds first encounter ever with a character) she gave Pluto a hug and asked Pluto if he had been nutered Then asked her mommy about the other characters as she noticed none of the "boy" ones had pee pees so how do they go to the bathroom I am still waiting to find out how she explained this to her DD.

I don't know how embarrassing, but it kind of sucked. On Splash Mountain, I saw an older guy fall when the girl running the ride started the ride before he gotten seated. The other people in his party had a few not so Disney-like words for the girl. Man, she sucked. Didn't apologize or anything. People were booing her. She deserved it.

Most embarassing thing was probably a seagull pooping on my baby's head. It was really gross, but she was too young to be embarassed. Another time my DD and neice were going on Peter Pan ahead of us. They were about 10 and 11 years old. The CM asked them how old they were because "you have to be 7 to ride without an adult" and the 11 said in a loud voice"Do I look like I'm 7, I'm wearing a bra!" The rest of us wanted to pretend we didn't know her. My DH would probably say that his most embarassing moment was playing the angel at the HDD.

My most embarassing moment is caught on film. It wasn't embarassing then, but it is now. Me standing in front of the brick wall Roger Rabbit seems to have broken through in all my 12-year-old glory wearing tight-rolled Girbaud's, penny loafers, a New Kids On The Block shirt, a spiral perm with big bangs and a black hat (a la New Kids). Boy is that pic horrid, and I thought I was hot stuff in 1989!

My story didn't happen to me but rather to my husband. It was our first trip to DW and we were going non stop! My three year old daughter finally got worn out and she ended up falling asleep on my husband when we were waiting in a line. Well, I guess you could say she had an accident while she was sleeping on my husband.
We all were laughing hysterically but my husband didn't think it was funny! ![]()

Re: What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you/someone else at WDW?
My embarrassing moment happened to my best friend during a school trip to WDW our freshman year of high school. We were floating down the lazy river at the water park when a group of boys that we went to school with flipped over my friends tube. When she came out of the water, the top to her bathing suit was around her waste. The boys got quite a show, but my friend was mortified. I may have laughed just a little...

The most embarrasssing thing was me and my DD were coming off the TTA and slowly jogging down the moving walk-way. She fell down about half way and tumbled to the bottom...not getting hurt mind you. I am sorry to say that I was laughing SO hard I nearly peed my pants....it was that comical. My DD after getting over the shock of it, laughed too.

okay, I don't know if this counts, but, the first time I went to Disneyland, we drove all night and I was really tired. I was 5 months pregnant and I had not slept in about 20 hours. anyway I checked into the hotel and I turned to go back outside and walked into the picture window next to the door. I did not even turn around to see if anyone was looking, I just walked out.

Re: What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you/someone else at WDW?
Embarrassing for my sister-in-law but a source of great fun for me.
We'd decided to go on Mr Toad's wild ride and she had to go in the car in front of me and my wife. As her car disappeared through the doors the ride broke down. She was on the other side in the dark and couldn't make out what was happening as no announcement had been made yet. We..........and a lot of others waiting in line ...........could see her on the CCTV screen above the doors looking very confused. I called thru the doors to for her to stay in the car and to wave her arms up and down so she could be found. Thinking that I was a Cast Member she followed my instructions. Obviously everyone that was watching the screen was in hysterics and she got a rousing cheer when she eventually came out.............but she didn't ever find out why. He he he he. |

Okay...here goes:
While in Epcot in 2003, we were caught in the worst rainstorm to hit the area in years (as we were told the next day by staff at the Contemporary)! We have never been that wet while still wearing clothes....EVER! We finally made it to the Rose & Crown for our dinner reservation! Here's where the "fun" begins! Somewhere between the Rose & Crown and the rest of Epcot, I lost my wallet! Our first day in Disney! My money, credit cards, room key, drivers liscence, military ID, everything.....gone! to make this situation even worse, I didn't realize I'd lost my wallet until we were watching "Illuminations"! I did a wallet check by patting where the thing should have been, nothing! Panic ensued! So now the park is very dark due to the pyro-technics show, and I tell my wife and kids to stay where they are while I do an extremely frantic search of the park. Hampered by the darkness, and the fact that the folks in the France pavillion didn't quite know what I meant by lost wallet! Well, my search of the darkened park came up with nothing, so I made my way to my family and the park manager's office to see if by some miracle, my wallet turned up! On the way, we checked at the Rose & Crown. Well, miracles DO happen, especially at Disney! My wallet was found, and turned in at the toy shop in the England pavillion! When I walked in, the 8 CMs let out a very loud cheer! (they recognized me from my military ID they said!) Got my wallet back....with everything intact! EVERYTHING! Our waiter that night found it after we left and turned it in! I left a reward for him with the restaurant, as he left for the night! Upon returning to Connecticut after our trip, I contacted Epcot, and the Rose & Crown, and told them the entire story here! They sent me an email telling me that our waiter recieved the reward I had left him, and Disney rewarded him as well! That made me feel great! Only in Disney could this story have such a happy ending!

Re: What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you/someone else at WDW?
I will remember this for the rest of my life... My dad and I were at the INDY speedway cars at the MK in the early 80's... We were standing in line above where the cars drive under you at the end of the ride. As we are standing there listening to " Please do not bump the car in front of you...", we see someone's grandma sitting in a car oblivious that her grandson has not heeded the warning of not bumping. Well he came up behind her and rammed her car very hard- HER WIG FELL OFF!!!! she tried to throw it back on as quickly as she could, because by this time it was time to move the car, and she put her wig on backwards. I can still see the look of surprise on her face- it was like Candid camera. My dad and I almost collapsed from laughter... I am still laughing- luckily she was not hurt!!!

Re: What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you/someone else at WDW?
Actually I didnt put this in my report, I lost my hat while on Splash Mountain. I thought I had tightened the hat good enough so it wouldn't come off but when I put my arms up in the arm as we were going down the big drop the hat flew off my head. In the picture where you can buy it the picture showed the hat coming off. Anyways I had to go to Downtown Disney and replace my New York Yankees hat. Just furthered proved to me that Walt Disney World is Boston Red Sox fan :-p.

What a great story from Amelia's Man.
It restores your faith in people when you hear things like this.............and it's fitting that it should have happened at WDW. Nice one. |

Re: What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you/someone else at WDW?
Rob, I think WDW is the only place that this could have had a happy ending!
Although it did happen in the England area of Epcot, and our waiter who found my wallet was from London! So that says A LOT about the character of the English people! And that's a feather in your cap my friend! ![]()
