First ever pin pursuit at WOD NYC

Hey, I just found out about this yesterday & I'm so excited. The World of Disney on 5th Ave. in NY is having a pin pursuit on August 1st. According to a CM, it begins at store opening but they haven't had a meeting about it yet. If I hear more, I'll let you know. Here's a link for more info because I know I'm leaving a bunch out.

I took my daughter to the PPn pursuit and it was AWESOME!!! We each did the storewide scavenger hunt and each got a beautiful moving princess pin -- my DD got Cinderella, and I got Aurora! You could choose from 13 different pins, and it was so fun! There were a ton of traders there, and it felt like being at WDW! Also, we took in our Kellogg's boxtops for an additional awesome moving pin from guest services, and so we ended up with three FREE pins! What a terrific day!!!

I went in the afternoon and also had a great time. I got pictures of the Mickey statues. I hope they come out okay. I got the happiest celebration stitch pin as my freebie but forgot to bring my kellogg labels. I did alot of trading, both with the CMs & customers. I don't know how I did it but I scored a lanyard pin from a CM and this was at about 6pm! I had a great time & yes it was almost like trading at the parks. I can't wait to go again. I'm thinking I may go pin trade once a month now. I still have to put my pins away. The pursuit map makes a great background for adding the NYC pins on for framing.

Do they ever have pin pursuit's at regular disney stores?

I doubt it. Since World of Disney New York City is actually owned and operated by Walt Disney World (and happens to be HUGE--3 floors), the events are actually Disney-directed. Regular Disney Stores are owned by The Children's Place and are no longer under Disney's jurisdiction.

I have never come across any. The one that is in the mall near me is rather small.

I happened upon the Disney store this weekend and got to finally see some of the Statues!! I was thrilled, since I'd missed their appearance at the park last year by a matter of weeks! The most interesting ones to me at the store were the Statue of Liberty one and the Tom Hanks Space one.

Glad to have seen part of the magic. Sorry I forgot to bring my camera!

My question is, if a pin pursuit is at DisneyLand Resort, do you have to be staying at the hotel to participate, or is it like Vegas casino's and you can come and go even if you don't have a room there?

I'm pretty sure you can just show up. I was at the Contemporary for dinner recently, and they were having a big Pin event that night. I simply went up and browsed. It wasn't a problem. I'd say the same for DL.

if you go to www.worldofdisney.com, you can see everything before it happens at the store! All plans, schedules, etc., are listed there! Plus lots of other cool stuff!
