Pin trading Question
Hello,
I have a quick question. When trading a pin, does having it's pin card for Disney help it's value to collectors? Like make someone more likely to trade for it? Thanks for any replys!!! Happy New Year!! Shane

Most of the big time pin traders tend to put their pins into binders to keep them together and safe, so it would seem that to most that the pin cards do not add any value. But it may make the pin seem newer and untouched compared to a loose pin. I actually have a small bag with some of the pin cards, but most have been discarded/lost/etc.

Re: Pin trading Question
Okay, thanks :)
What about having large numbers of pins (See, I've won 170 pins on ebay) and currently have 90 for trade. When I go to the park at the end of January, one of the things I want to do is just search for Cast Members and trade with them. But, would having a large number of pins look odd? It's doubtful I'll be carrying the 260 all at one time, but I don't know. Any input or heard any stories I should know about?

Re: Pin trading Question
My DD is the pin trader at our house and could care less if it has the pn card or not. She is more concentrated on collecting a whole series or any cast member pins. I am sure it depends on the person you are trading with. The card surely can't hurt.

Re: Pin trading Question
If you have a lot to trade, I would recommend carrying about a dozen or so on your lanyard and maybe another dozen in your fannypack or backpack. Definietly trade with CM and try to avoid those people with the big binders at DTD. They often want you to trade 2 or 3 of yours for one of theirs. Try to go to the pin trading events at the resorts, they will let you trade about 4 pins with those on their board or their book. At DTD in the disney store pins section they have a book you can trade in, also at AK in the main gift shop they will show you a book with many pins to trade with. It can be a lot of fun. Make sure none of your pins are sedesma, as they won't usually trade for those. Have fun!

Re: Pin trading Question
Yes, make sure you only bring pins that say Disney on the back. CMs will only trade official Disney pins.

Re: Pin trading Question
I know it doesn't really matter to me if there is a card or not. I also know it doesn't matter to the CMs either. If they're wearing a lanyard, they are required to trade with you as long as the pin you are offering is an official Disney pin, and they don't already have it on they're lanyard. Happy trading...
