Hi all... got a quick question, just purchased some pins off ebay, they all say DISNEY on the back, but backing are a regular back not mickey ears. Will the CM's still trade with my daughter(s).

Yes, as long as they are official Disney pins. The backs don't matter. Most cms have you keep you back and just exchange the actual pin. You are able to buy mickey head backs at almost any store in WDW. They also have new ones that are hearts, hands and other shapes...pretty cute.

I just wasn't sure of the back.
I have an almost 13 year old that can wait to pin trade.

Then you will be just fine. As I said, the backs don't matter. Older pins didn't have the mickey head backs, so it's no biggie. Your DD is going to love trading. My 12 year old is a serious trader now and looks forward to it every trip.

I never had a CM refuse my daughter during a trade. I even offered to keep the non mickey backs and the cm's said "no, these backs are softer so she wont get scratched."

Yeah, some CMs will take the metallic backs and almost insist that you take a rubber mickey back in return for safety reasons and juts being nice it seems. I have also had some CMs sort of get slighty peeved by the metal backs, but thankfully they were few and far between!

As long as it says disney and not sedesema(Spain) it is an authentic 100% real pin. The seller could have replaced the backs if the old ones got ruined. But like everyone else said, the pin packs have no value the overall pin is it.

Has anyone had a problem with pins falling off. I have lost 2 pins because the back came off. I bought the "safety backs." But I have 2 pins break off with those backs. Also does anyone know if Disney will exchange a pin if it breaks?

My kids lost 5 pins on our last trip due to the backs falling off. We figure it was no ones fault and it is a chance you take when you wear your pins on your lanyard. I would bet that if it broke soon after you bought it, Disney would replace it for you. DS bought a Stitch lanyard where Stitsch hung down at the bottom of his lanyard. On our last trip, it got caught in the escalator at the end of Space Mountain. We told the CM who was working at the gift shop when you exit SM, and she happily replaced the lanyard at no charge. Disney is wonderful when it comes to making the guests happy.

I lost 3 pins this last trip. By the end of the trip I was carrying my lanyard in my pocket.

I broke a pin too, but I didn't feel it was the CM's responsibility to replace it. So I just put it in a baggy with extra pin backs.

I guess it would be a good idea if we just fold up the lanyard, tuck it away in a pocket in the backpack, and only take it out when you feel like trading a pin or two. We have 2 lanyards at home with about 15 pins on each (purchased on eBay). Little DS put the "keepers" on one lanyard, and the "traders" on the lanyard we'll take with us. It's just for fun for us. We're not "serious" pin collectors.
