Disney Pins on Airplanes

Does any one know if we can take a lanyard full of pins with our carry-on luggage or do we have to pack our disney pins. We are using the magical express and dont want to be with out our pins to trade for the first day

You know, this is a good question. Last time we flew, it was before the recent events, but I do remember having the boys lanyards in the carryons, and there was no issue.

Re: Disney Pins on Airplanes

I would think pins would be a no-no...HOWEVER, the last couple times I flew I'm positive I had a few pins in my carryon. So I don't know how strict they are about this.

One thing I KNOW they don't allow......make sure you don't have a mini-Leatherman on your keychain! OMG that was so embarrassing. The last time I flew, I forgot to take mine off my keychain and of course they swooped in on it. I was so embarrassed I started to cry! (Which was even more embarrassing. )

I was far too mortified to go back and check it...I just asked them to throw it away. LOL

I just called the airline and they said to pack pins in your checked luggage.

Re: Disney Pins on Airplanes

My DD has taken her lanyard in her carry-on the last two trips. It hasn't been an issue. I don't know if they would be ok with the extra security measures being taken right now, so I would call your airline just to be sure.

My kids took their whole pin bags with about 100 pins in them on the airplane with them last week and no one even batted an eye.

When I was coming back from WDW in 2004 I wore my lanyard full of pins on the entire flight.

It was a Christmas present from my parents...y'know, they figured I'd need it living in Alaska I guess...LOL! I just stuck it on my keychain and never used it for anything really. But it was hard convincing the security guy of that!

I think as soon as I started crying he felt bad though...he offered me a tissue!

Re: Disney Pins on Airplanes

Your best plan would be to keep your pins in the carry on and once you get to the airport ask someone at one of the desks, it gives you enough time to slide them into you suitcases just incase you arn't allowed them!

Re: Disney Pins on Airplanes

I didn't want my girls to put theirs in their luggage because if they luggage was lost they would lose all their pins-they each have about a hundred. They took them as their carryon personal item, and each had a backpack as well. No worries.
