They way I started and still do my collection is through eBay. They have atleast 80,000 different disney pins up for sale at very reasonable and cheaper prices then the parks. Since I haven't been to the parks for the real pin trading experience I do online traders through pinpics.com and dizpins.com. I would suggest dizpins for trading since they are 100% family orientated with disney pins. But yes, ebay is how I started my collection and so far I have about 70 pins now and they just keep coming in :).

My kids started by buying one of the sets from WoD with like 4 or 6 pins. They add to their collection each time they visit and the only trade with CMs. Cms are great about helping them. We have put locking backs on the ones we paid a lot for and they can nbot trade those. My son trades all the time. He has new pins constantly.

It is great fun.

We started out with buying our kids the Starter Pin & Lanyard set. Then we bought them pins at each Restaurant and Park we went to. They had a great time trading pins with the cast members.
