Are you a pin trader?

We started trading a couple years ago and are quite addicted. Even our DS (4 yrs) loves it. We started because he saw a lanyard & asked to have one. Needless to say all three of us have lanyards and all together atleast 100 pins. Just wanted to see if others are as addicted to them:D .

I am also a pin trader. What I do is go to Character Premiere and buy discounted pins and trade with CM's,because whatever is on their lanyards they have to trade and you give them whatever pins you want. I have gotten some really good ones that way!!

Myself, DW, DD (7 tomorrow), DD 5 & DS 5 all have lanyards and trade sometimes. This past January the local DisneyStores were selling oldewr pins for 75% off. I bought a whole slew full for trading. We aren't fanatics but we like to trade.

I had considered starting this with DD. When we were there in April she got a minnie cheerleader pin at the sports store at DTD and she loves it. Maybe this trip I'll go to the outlets and see if I can find some good deals on pins to trade out. How do you approach the cms for trading?

Your kids go barreling up and ask, "Can I trade a pin?" We (meaning the boys 10 & 6 and myself) did this for the first time on our last trip. It was cool...my boys LOVED it. I enjoyed stopping and talking (can you believe...me?...talk?) to the CMs. I doubt if I will do it again, but I imagine the boys will be asking for their lanyards on our next trip. :D

I am not sure about what color, but you are right there are certain CM's who only trade with Children. The last time we went to MK it was just myself and DW. She collects this line of Winnie the Pooh Santa's and she found one on a CM with a colored lanyard. She asked a little girl to go trade for her. The CM actually recommended this to us.

Our DS trades with everyone he can. We took him to a Friday night pin trade at the Contemporary ad he loved it. He was actually too young to go but they let him in since a CM had sent us there. He's 4 and they usually don'y allow under 6 but he did really well and got some great pins. We've heard that they will be coming out with new colored cast lanyards that they can only trade with kids. It really does become very addictive. We have been waiting fo our local D-store to get pins in again because it is very hard to find them outside WDW. Have seen articles on pin events at malls around the country but haven't made it to any.

Mickaholic is right...the green lanyards are for kids only...they usually have some really cool pins too...... I had to stop myself from prodding the boys to choose one over the other.
