Magic Moments Pins

We purchased one of the Magic Moments Pins during our trip last week, and it is very cute. My daughter thought it was "cool" how it lit up during the parades or during certain parts of rides. Even when walking around the parks, the pin would go off.

FYI - If you go to www.waltdisneyworld.com, under the events for Walt's 100th birthday, you can complete a section on the Magic Moments Pins. After you complete it, you get a certificate that you can print out and take to WDW for a free Disney Pin with the purchase of a Magic Moments Pin. However, you must purchase the Magic Moments Pin at MGM. We did purchase my daughter's pin at MGM, and they did give us a free Disney pin that features Mickey sitting at a computer and I believe Disney's 100th Birthday is on the computer screen.:)

jgriff2388,

Oh, yeah, these are too cool! We started collecting pins a couple of months before our trip, and one of the things we collect are "park" pins. My youngest is MK, my oldest is AK, my wife is Epcot, and I'm MGM. So, we each bought our pin and the extra 100 Years pins. They would go bonkers at the best times - the classic rides, parades, fireworks. And our batteries lasted the whole trip!

I bought the four park pins last month when I was there and I knew they lit up at the parades....but wasn't aware they lit up in the rides. The first time I was in the Haunted Mansion, I only had the MK Magic pin and it lit up. I was embarassed and tried to hide it. By the time we went to Animal Kingdom, I had on all four and during the end of Dinosaur the car stopped in the pitch dark and all four where blinking away. This time, everyone in the car burst out laughing.

Lisa,

They are all over the place - pin stations and many non-pin shops. Can't miss them.

Bruce

BTW... I'm also from the Cincy area!

The MM pins sell for about $16 but their magical light display makes 'em worth it. The certificate that jgriff mentions in his post is easy to get. You take it to the pin station under Mickey's sorceror's hat (you really, really, REALLY can't miss it) at Disney MGM Studios to get the extra pin. I believe there are 5 different styles of MM pins available. Please enjoy!

Are they still doing the virual pinbox promotion on disneyworld.com? I found out about it in the Sept. issue of Disney Insider. Ironically, it sat in my mailbox while I was at
WDW. I collected the virtual pins and got a certificate but it expired in June. I really hope I can get another one.

I can hardly wait to get some mm pins. I had no idea they lit up in rides. As I rarely get to see the parades thanks to an overzealous "but Fran, I wanna go on the Pooh ride" fiance, I'm dying to find out what rides the pins light up in.
:)
