Dopey- prayers and good thoughts coming your way! I hope everything is alright with your son! I can't believe your throat either . . . from the bubbles in the water? If you take a pitcher and fill it will crushed ice, lemon or orange slices, poor yourself a glass . . . I find crunching on the ice is easier then straight drinking the water, and it cures my need to CRUNCH food! LOL!!

Have fun on your cheat day . . . when do you guys weigh . . . once a week? Or after the 11 days?

Dopey - oh no! That sounds terrible! I hope you feel better soon.

The Propel flavor packets are really good - better than the bottled Propel actually - they don't have that weird aftertaste.

Jen - this is my 11th day so my cheat days start tomorrow. =)

I have never tried the flavor packets. I am afraid that they taste fake-like. I can always squeeze some lemon into the water-water.
I don't know when the results for the MRI will be in. I imagine early next week.
Let's not forget that this is a 14 year old we're talking about. I have a feeling that much of that pain is there because people pay more attention to him

AHH! That sounds awful Dopey. Do you like the flavor packets you can add to water? They save me everyday. :) I can not drink the bubbly kind of water, because when I was little that's what I got for tummy trouble, and it would make me almost immediately.

When do you get the results back on the MRI?

I think portion control and mindless eating is what makes most people fat.
I cook all day and at the end of the day I have very little to show for and some days I have to stretch the gravy, because of all the taste tests

I never had sugar withdrawals because I eat mostly salty things.

This morning I had to get up at 1:45 to take my son to have an MRI in a town nearly 40 miles away. In any case, it sort of threw me off my schedule. But I am back on track, bridging the gap with water, blech.
    Speaking of water...
One bad thing happened to me a few days ago. Since I can really only tolerate bubbly water in such amounts, I have been drinking Seltzer water exclusively and of course some tea and lots of coffee.
The bubbles, for lack of better explanation, "rubbed" my esophagus raw. I woke up 2 nights ago with the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. And I can still feel it today.
So now I have to be very careful. No more coffee, no more bubbles. Hopefully I didn't do any permanent damage. But I am a little scared

Me too, me too . . . like when I am cooking for the kids I have to stop myself from tasting and licking the spoon . . . or finishing what's on their plates . . . all "Mom Trap" bad habits I have to break!

Oh absolutely, it is all about retraining our thinking, if you read the handbook, there is a lot of good information to live by.
My problem was portion control, and eating way too many starchy foods, before. Also, lots of mindless eating on my part, truly not paying attention to what I was putting in my mouth.

Day 3 started out great . . . scrambled eggs and fresh strawberries . . . yum! Honestly I think this diet is just retraining our thinking . . . we have to eat to LIVE not LIVE to eat! Except for Fruit day (next time I am doing whole fruit, so I can crunch, not fruit salad and smoothie) the "meals" are pretty satisfying.

I suffered from the sugar withdrawal myself. I keep drinking water, and I do occasionally treat myself to a crystal light.

I also was extremely hungry on the fruit day, I don't know why, since I love fruit! today is my day 11, so tomorrow I am off on a cheating rampage. Hehehe, not really. I actually planned out my meals so I won't gain everything back. I like having them written out, it helps me stay accountable. BUT I am having a piece of bread.Oh yes I am.

Llamamama, good thoughts headed your way! All that worrying is not good for the soul.
