Its a small world in Hong Kong Disneyland

this is a very small theme park. i live in asia because my parents are missionaries. all i see on t.v. is abouthong kong disneyland. there are not many rides or shows here. compared to the other parks is a small park.

on a another note, why would disney make another park in asia when they have a park there?? tokyo is not that far from hong kong. they should hae put a park in a different contenint or had on to disney world or disney land .

Re: Its a small world in Hong Kong Disneyland

I am sorry to hear that the park is small. As for not that many rides or shows, it just opened and I am certain they will add things over time. I agree with your opinion on putting it in a different continent, but am glad the people of hong kong will have a park too.

It's nice to meet you, smithfamily!

Like Dana said, I'm sure they will add things as time goes on! :c)

Was it neat to be in a brand new park, though?

Re: Its a small world in Hong Kong Disneyland

Disneyland didn't have many rides when they opened, but within a few years they had added many more rides. I expect HK Disneyland to get major additions within the next few years and by 2010 being a great Disney park.

Yea... many more rides are on the way for Hong Kong and hopefully these rides will start to make the HK Disneyland more unique in time.

Re: Its a small world in Hong Kong Disneyland

I just visited a show at EPCOT China Pavillion spotlighting the imagineers task of creating Disneyland in HONG KONG. They said that this park will have the largest Adventure Land of any other park. I will be visiting in early January, on business to tour a piano factory, hope the weathers nice.

I agree, they should have built it elsewhere.....like in Australia. Its hard being obsessed with all things Disney when all the parks are soooooo far away.

You know Disney is gonna make this park better...but they just couldn't do it all at once. Like any large scale construction project, it has to be done in phases. It'll get better... You can bet on that.

Re: Its a small world in Hong Kong Disneyland

Just remember this one thing, remember how small Disneyland in California was and how little rides it had when it first opened? And now look at how the park has grown and how many rides it has had added. Im sure with in time DL HK will become larger and add on to what it has, just give it time and Im sure it will progress greatly.

Re: Its a small world in Hong Kong Disneyland

Look how huge of a park DL paris was when it opened... that was a mistake (DL paris is a pretty big "failure" in Disney's eyes, or at least I've heard). I think Disney has learned that opening parks big is a mistake, because there's nothing new to add. You have to start out small and keep the people coming back with new and exciting things each year until you have a great big theme park with variety and history. Like Disneyhog said, it 'will' get better. It has some serious potential!
