It gets busy, just like school vacation time. NYE gets a little nuts at the parks. We're staying pool side that day and reservations at night. You'll love it!!! We do a lot of resort hopping for the decorations. Don't miss festival of lights in DS, it's awesome. Hope to see you there...

LOL, We took our parents one year too. Yeah the point schedule is pretty good there. I spoke with Mary and we may go there early fall next year. You have to let me know what you think.... Twelve hours isn't that bad. I do about 14-16hrs first day. After awhile I go crazy. This year we're letting our kids take friends. How crazy are we?????

We didn't, but we gave our points to my brother in law. He loved it!!!!! The rooms are great and the kids didn't want to go home they had so much fun. How long is the ride from your house to HH? I ask my wife about stopping there on the way down, she mentioned its to much out of our way for just an overnight stay. We're driving down from Rhode Island. By the time we hit that area I will have been driving for almost 14hrs. Happy Thanksgiving.....

You will love SSR. We have stayed there a number of times and DW has figured out the rooms pretty good. Here goes... if you want to be close to the walk to DTD then The Congress Park section is where you want. They have a private pool there- no theme- and the walk to DTD is awesome. We have stayed in this section before. The drawback is you are a distance from the main buildings and the main pool. As much as we liked the quick walk to DTD and our view of Cirque de Soleil, it was too far from the main buildings. Last year we stayed in The Springs- first floor, great view of the lake- awesome!!!!! Ducks visited our patio every day whether it was while having coffee or a glass of wine and a beer with DW. If you look at the attached map of the resort you will see all of the sections I am referring to. Our room in The Springs was in the 3101-3436 section, which was right across the street from the main buildings and the main pool. In my opinion any room in The Paddock or Carousel sections is way too far. We've been told many of the old timers who go to golf, etc. like the out of the way buildings. We did get a chance though, on our way back from the parks one night, to stop at The Grandstand section where there is another themed pool- horse racetrack- with a bar (Backstretch Pool Bar). It was pretty cool. The surprising part for us was that it is very close to the main buildings. There is a walkway from The Grandstand to the main buildings and room numbers 8501-8836 are right near the walkway. We were amazed and talked about the fact that we would have never considered staying in this section because we thought it was so far away. Not so!! Look at the attached map http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/saratoga.jpg so you can figure the sections. A little tip we were also given by someone at OKW resort- when asking to be near the main buildings they say they can not guarantee. The women at OKW told us to say there are medical reasons why you need to be close to the main buildings and they guarantee it because it is for medical purposes. If you want to go that route??
