Josh, I would guess that seasonal work wouldn't qualify you for a position driving the monorail, so that is probably out.
Personally, I would love to work at 50's Prime Time Cafe in MGM, or really any restaurant in a deluxe resort. Can you imagine the tips you get at California Grill? Their turnover is pretty fast for a fancy dancy restaurant. I also wouldn't mind working at any of the pools around the resorts. Pretty relaxing. Good luck!

Popular opinion is thet food service is pretty bad. My recruiter said he did that for a year at EPCOT & it was the most miserable experience of his life. I would avoid that. However, being a server at a restaurant would bring excellent tips!
I personally like the thought of working attractions. It's nothing too difficult, offers socialization to a point, you get some interesting info on how the place operates & you know you'll always get perks on those rides yourself! ;) I was talking to someone yesterday who just signed on at Wide World of Sports & that seems cool. Honestly, a lot of people are fond of custodial as well. It's a flexible position without any overly difficult work, offers socialization & pays decent. Just a few suggestions, but personally, I have to say I still prefer attractions. :) Good luck if you do decide to join the Disney family!

A good friend of mine was a dancer at the MK and at MGM. He loved it. He said it was a great place to work except he felt for the people who where characters. Said it was hot and difficult at times, people were very demanding and ofthen rude.

My Disney dream job? Hmmmm
After some careful consideration, it would be one of two: 1. To play the character Cruella De Vil. Great clothes with an attitude! 2. To be a bartender at the Bare Foot Bar at the Polynesian. You get to work outside at a great Disney resort and you get tips. Plus, I never saw them open past 10 PM. ![]()

my first choice would be working with guest relations either at a resort or one of the parks .. I think it would be great to be able to make sure the magic is in someone's vacation ..if not that ..I would love to be a maid at one of the resorts .. one of the most magical memories that we have is coming back to the room and finding all the special touches the mousekeeper had done .. the girls would actually look forward to leaving the parks and going to the room to see what magic was waiting ..this has declined over the years :( it wasnt done at all when we were at AKL. I can remember even at the All Stars the maid would lay the girls nighties out and arrange thier toys in different ways. So working as a mousekeeper could be so much fun.

Anything driving i think would be great. Monorail #1 of course, but the WDW Railroad, the Main Street Trolleys, the Epcot Bus thing in Futureworld, even the tram in the parking lot, which I believe you could get for seasonal work. Otherwise the water taxi on the lagoon in Epcot or the Ferry Driver.
If I couldn't do any of those, lifeguard would be fun. Food service would be out for me, as well as any character. Resorts may be better than your average business class hotel, but after working in hotels for roughly 4 years to put myself through school, I don't know if I could go back. People are never satisfied. Greenskeeper at the Palm or Magnolia golf courses or information desk at Main Street. Valet at Pleasure Island might be nice too. Just trying to come up with different ideas for you. |

So much for steering clear of entertainment, Dawn...my absolute dream job would be singing with the Voices of Liberty. Everytime we hear them I just want to jump up & join them!!!

I would love to be Cinderella! Although I have often thought that actually being a cast-member might fade some of the magic for me. So, my reality dream job at Disney is as an attorney in their legal department! I can still be close to the magic (get all the perks ;) ;) ) yet not have to be down in the trenches.

Hello!!
There are 3 jobs in Disney World that I would love to have. First I would love to be a street character in MGM. It looks like they get to do anything they feel like doing at the moment. Plus people will remember you when they get home. I'd like to be the person in the Confectionary shop on Main Street who gets to be in that booth making taffy or cotton candy. Also, I'd like to work in the tea room at the Grand Floridian. The setting is beautiful and I'd like to learn to make tea without using a tea bag! Joy :angel |
