Who Do You "Summon?"

Alright, we established that a good hunk of you have played Kingdom Hearts and a good hunk of that group think it's one of the best games ever created. I couldn't agree more. One of the best features of this game is the ability to "summon" a character fighter just like in the Final Fantasy games. Every one of these "summons" has a kick-booty cut-scene when you call them to fight. But out of the six summons (Simba, Bambi, Dumbo, Genie, Tinkerbell, and Mushu), which one is your favorite to watch? Mine personally? Definitely has to be Simba. Watching him emerge from the clouds and roar on Pride Rock gives me shivers every time I see it. Next?

Question: What the heck is Kingdom Hearts!? I have heard much about this game and have wondered a lot about what it is and where I can get it.

Whoa. Let me take you two to school. It's an RPG type game (think along the lines of Legend of Zelda) for PS2. You play a character who is on a quest with Donald and Goofy at your side to stop beings called the Heartless from taking over the Disney Universe. You travel to different worlds to battle the Heartless, and these worlds are actually Disney tales (for example you go to the worlds of Wonderland, Tarzan's Jungle, Halloweentown, and Neverland). You also fight alongside your favorite disney characters as well as battle the biggest Disney villains ever to come out of an animation studio. The biggest surprise is, you also fight alongside and against characters from the Final Fantasy games. Truly this game is incredible. The story, the animation, graphics, voices of the characters, beautiful games. Hope this helps.

tigger, you really need to get up to speed, I mean, sega genisis... sega doesnt even make consoles anymore! Kingdom Hearts is on PS2, and it rules!!!! But it really sucked when you have to fight Cloud and Squall (Leon) with a duck and a dog, I mean c'mon! lol. Anyway, my favorite summon is Simba and Mushu. When Kingdom Heats 2 comes out, I hope there will be a Sitch Summon. Think about it, stich has blaster on each hand (4) and spits acid at the heartless. kewl.....! What summon do you want?

Re: Who Do You "Summon?"

Hey, do they have this for GameCube? or is it just for PS2? My Brer has GC and I bet she would like this game, because the only games she has are Disney, so if you could provide some info it would be helpful. Thanks.

Re: Who Do You "Summon?"

I've never heard of it. I just voted for Tinkerbelle because if there's a Disney character that I would "summon" in a time of need, it would have to be someone with the power of the dust.

Re: Who Do You "Summon?"

I think it depends on the situation. Each character has their own talents.

Matt, have you completed the game? We are close. We are in the last world. I can't dedicate enough time to it and my son has so much going on right now.

I've beaten it twice now, but only COMPLETED the game once. The first time I beat it I wasn't satisfied b/c there was still things needed to be done. The second time I got the ultimate weapon, won the Hades cup in under 20 minutes to get Goofy's ultimate weapon, found all 101 Dalmations, and the thing I was most proud of, I BEAT SEPHIROTH, the hardest mofo ever to come across a video screen. And Matt you're correct to an extent. When you summon Tink, she'll fly around and heal you when you take a hard lick. If it's hard enough to take your life, she'll give you hers so you get one more chance. Very helpful against the desert sideboss of Agrabah.

Re: Who Do You "Summon?"

Lawwin, no they dont have it for GC, unfortunately.....
I am not happy about that, but there may be some hope. With Square making games for nintendo again, FF crystal chronicles, there may be a chance they could port it over. I only say that in speculation though, since KH:Chain or memories, is coming to gameboy advanced, which is a nintendo system.
They redid metal gear solid for GC, so maybe they would redo KH for GC too. It makes real sense, since GC is seen as a kids system anyways, plus it's REALLY lacking in RPG's! I wish I had money for a PS2 cause KH is one game I would pick up quick, and I hear it's running for about $14 now! How can I resist, oh yeah cause Ps2 is still the most expensive system. Come on now Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft have slashed their prices, I know you think you're top dog, but think of the consumers!!! Ha by the time they do slash prices and I can get one, Ps3 will be out!

Oh hey then I can be proud too, I beat that guy way back in the day. In good ol Final Fantasy 7, one of the best FF to hit the PS1!
How come I could afford 2 PS1's back in the day (my first one broke after a year or so)? But I can't afford one PS2 and they've dropped the price once or twice already?? It's less than the $200 mark?? Yet I can afford a 7 night wdw vacation...I think I'm either budgeting really good or really bad.....

Re: Who Do You "Summon?"

I just know that she LOVES Haunted Mansion on Gamecube, and has completed the easy level. Now she is moving on to normal, but I can't wait to see her try nightmare. She also likes the Donald Duck games. She has PK Out of the Shadows and Donald Duck Going Quackers. They are hilarious.

Re: Who Do You "Summon?"

There are more disney games for GC than any other system, thats why I am waiting for KH to hopefully come to it. The GC hardware is just more advanced than the PS2 anyways. You can see that from any multiplatform game, take metal gear solid.
I don't have much time to play though, I am glad of one thing though, Resident evil series being exclusive to GC, well aside from RE:outbreak and the gun games.

Oh I had a hayday myself w/ FF7 no doubt bout it, but until you take him one on one, just Sora (your character) and him, in Hercules world of the Olympus Coliseum, well, you'll throw the controller multiple times before you get his energy bar to change one color...and there's 5 of them. Beating him is not a requirement to beat the game, but boy does it give you a pride boost if you can do it.
