We ditched the kids with my folks yesterday and went home to pack!

We've got luggage hidden all over the house.

I can barely contain myself!!!

Sounds fun! I wish I could do that with Brer. But, at almost 11 (on Wed.) she would smell something's up a mile off. I bet your wound up as tight as a spring with only 8 days to go, you lucky devil. Say hi to Mickey for me and Brer.

Actually, DS is almost 12 and he's completely fooled. His birthday is the day before.

DW and I keep throwing out negative clues like specific plans for that weekend. He's also supposed to be running a mile with his class for PE the morning we leave, so he'd never suspect that we'd be leaving on that day.

The other thing is we've really had a mild spring, so the summer clothes haven't come out yet, so we were able to pck them from the boxes in the basement instead of raiding their dressers.

So, we're all set.

Is it bad that DW and I are so sneaky?

That's not a bad thing. (being sneaky) It's just soooooo much fun. It lets you have fun too. You are going to have a great time.

DW and I are having so much fun keeping this a secret.

They will find out next Wednesday morning when we wake them up at 3:30 am and tell them to get dressed!

We did something similar to them last year when we picked them up in a chartered van from school. We made a quick stop at home to drop off their book bags and went immediately to the airport. We were in the air within 3 hours of them leaving school.

They both are at the top of their respective classes, so we don't hesitate to allow them to miss a few days.

We figure we'll give them just enough time to get dressed and get their spending money together.

Awesome!!!! I could never keep it a secret. I love to talk about Disney too much.

Last year I pulled a couple surprises on my wife. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. First, at MCO airport, I got a stretch limo instead of a towncar. And second, on our second evening while we were out, I had Gifts of a Lifetime come in and decorate our room and put a wedding cake on the table. She was so surprised.

That is awesome that you are pulling this off....the kids are really going to be so excited...once they get past your waking them up at 3:30 in the morning! Don't forget to grab their "lovey" if they still use one. I know I still have to travel with my special pillow!

Matt those kind of secret surprises are soo much fun for us adults. Your surprise reminds me of when we tricked the girls, they thought we were staying at the CBR but I had booked a deluxe savanah view room at the AKL ..and I managed a surprise for DH then too by adding a day :) It was so hard for us driving down and not saying anything!

I leave tomorrow and I haven't packed one thing! Although we did go to Walmart for the snacks last night and those are still in the bags, does that count?
With all the clothes that need to be washed and the house being cleaned, we haven't had time to pack. The kids didn't notice any clothes missing??

We dropped the kids with my folks and had about 3 hours.

Since it's still cool up here, we haven't broken out the summer clothes yet, so we were able to pack them from storage.

We'll pack underwear and socks after they go to bed that night.

GREEN WITH ENVY... wiping tear away now... moping and eating... looking at old WDW photos... playing with lanyard pins... visiting DC... wiping another tear away.

Nope, can't shake the envy! Please Matt, guess you'll have to have double the fun for all of us and when you get back, post the most detailed trip report ever! Do everything twice, and have a magical vacation!
