I has come to my attention that parts of the Birthday Club are no longer being done. Although this saddens me I understand that people do move on and things change. I however made a commitment to send each member of the club a gift from DC and I plan on continuing till every birthday has been celebrated or the club folds.

It is my hope to continue this club till the end of 2004. I have had so much fun with my birthday family. I even had the great fortune of my family growing by one after the birth of Neen626’s little sweetie Aiden. Personally my boys have best birthday club person(disneyjenny) and her suprises and little cards really make their day!!

I'd like to know how you all feel about the club? Please feel free to respond here or PM me if you feel we should continue the club or that the interest is no longer there and the club should fold. I’ll do whatever you’ll want. This was not my brainchild, but since I was involved I feel committed. I look forward to your responses.

Well, I love the club! My club person (Dougiesmommy) has been AWESOME to me and Emilie. I have kept up my end with MickeyRon. I guess you could give the people who aren't receiving anything the option to drop out and then notify their receipients. I don't really know how to take care of the whole issue but that is a suggestion.

Our Birthday person is great! (LRTJS). She picked out some fun Disney stuff for my birthday. The family we have already had 1 of the birthdays and she loved what we sent. And unless the look over at this thread, they don't know that there will be more coming to them over the year. So Shhhhh...

As we (Dougie and I) haven't actually celebrated birthdays yet we haven't really received anything. Dougie did get a nice Valentines card and huge sucker but nothing since. My birthday person hasn't let me in or who he/she is so I'm not even sure if they are around now or not.

I think that if someone commits to doing something then they should continue that commitment. But from the sounds of this question it appears that isn't happening. I'm up for whatever is decided.

the person I am a buddy for hasnt had a birthday yet :( as for the extra things during the year, I thought they were optional? I am sticking to it ..in fact I have the gift all ready to send, I ordered it a couple of months ago :)

Sorry all I don't think I made myself clear. Let me try to clear things up.

The Birthday Club had several tiers to it. One was we were assigned a birthday family and we could like Tink said do whatever we wanted to do for them. Jamie had all that info and he never shared any of that with me - and I don't know if he shared it with anyone else.

The club was set-up so that several "special" things were supposed to happen for the "birthday person" on their birthday. These little special things were to come directly from the DC Birthday Club. A letter was sent out from the club and a little treat was inside. Then (the pixie) was to send out a gift to the birthday person from the DC birthday club. What I found out was the letter is no longer going out.

Now if you haven't celebrated a birthday yet you'd never notice the difference, but some will since they received both surprises previously. I'm not trying to make this a big issue it's just that if one child received and one didn't it's confusing to them.

I guess I asking for some direction. I will continue to send out the little gifts, but I feel helpless since I didn't set this club up and I have very little info about it. I wonder if I'm missing someone as I was only given a list with names, BD and address. I guess I'm neurotic and when I agree to do something I like it to be done right and for everyone to receive the same. That's why I feel bad - that's not being done.

Wow, I didn't even know a birthday club exsisted! What a cool and sweet idea! I would like to sign up for this, and would gladly exchange info. with a birthday buddy. I can see how someone would be disappointed if their buddy forgot them. Maybe someone needs to post how to join and the guidelines for it to keep everyone happy? I would be interested in this. Who doesn't need a little pixie dust, especially on their birthday1

I vote to keep going!! As already mentioned my buddy has been awesome and I have kept my commitment... I have been slow on delivery (Smacks own hand! MUST BE ON TIME!), but I have followed through...

While I know that some have not recieved the letter your special treat was recieved with great response! You do a great job... Thanks so much for keeping your commitment!!

As for questions on how to get involved... I think someone would have to pick it up and start fresh...Allowing the past one to continue to the end of the year for it's completion... There were some rules that were good to have and I know that it was pretty involved. I don't know how you would start in the middle of the year...

Idea... run this one through June... then start fresh for July... However, it would take someone who was agressive enough to get it going in time so none of the children were left out... I don't know...just an idea...

Does anyone have a copy of the 'letter'? Was anything else being sent with the letter? Wasn't Dana sending out special little somethings as well?

I had volunteered to help out in the beginning and would be more than happy to pick up where there is some slack. Just let me know. I would hate for a child to think he/she got jipped compared to their sibling. I think as long as the 'club' keeps up their end that the 'pixies' will do their part as well. And if not the DC member should notify a person in charge so maybe something can be arranged.

I didn't know of the Birthday Club but I would vote that you continue it. It sounds as if maybe there is too much involved: let's say I pick Tinkerbell as my birthday person/family. Then I send the letter and gift or whatever I desire? Or is there a DC person in charge of sending out all the letters?

I think, and this may be how it is, that each of us should do the whole thing for the birthday person/family. Possibly we could type up the birthday letter on a forum (with Mickey's permission) so it will be easily accessible? Then we would each print and send the hard copy to the person. Just a suggestion.

Sorry if I am rambling...I think it is a very nice idea!

One of my kids has recieved their birthday gift and I contacted the sender (preidel)to thank her. My son's birthday isn't until November 2 and I don't know who has him....

The kids that I am suprising haven't had their birthdays yet...they will not be forgotten.

I will be taking care of a June and a September birthday....these kids are sisters so I know that they will both be getting gifts equal in substance.....

I am clueless as to a "letter".....

Let me begin by saying that I didn't create the club I was just a worker bee with a job to do and a list of birthdays. I had nothing to do with the rules or the set-up of the club. I don't even have any info on who has what person for a birthday family. I just want the birthday people in June to get the same that the birthday people in Jan, Feb, and March received. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks everyone I think we should continue too. Like I said I will continue to send the pixie gift and the birthday club people will take care of their family. That part seems to be going great. The part that not happening ***spoiler coming*** is the letter and disney dollars. Since I'm already doing the gift and I'm on DC very sporidically I really don't want to take on anymore financially or otherwise. There would be a cost attached to it too. There are 46 member and the deal was a gift for each birthday person (my job) and a letter and $5 in disney dollars. That can add up believe me. Perhaps we can compromise and send the letter and disney dollars just to the kids. There are 17 birthday kids left. My concern is siblings who brother/sister already receive the letter and the dollars will feel leftout.
