Platform sandals?
My granddaughter will be 6 while we are at Disney. She is very short. I read in a WWWG (Unofficial) about putting her in platform sandals right before we get in line until she is measured. Has anyone ever tried this? It adds about 3 inches to her. She is determined to ride SM. My daughter rode it when she was 4 (before they had height restrictions)

I say go for it. It could work, especially if the line is particularly busy. One word of caution, every rider on Space Mountain, as you may know, rides alone. Be sure that your grand-daughter is indeed big enough to be secured safely (anyone thinking HISTA?) in the rocket. Let us know how it goes and HAVE FUN!!:)

If it is only a few inches I would go for it, but I agree that would should feel safe with her riding the ride because it is a little rough and you want her to be tigh secured. But, a few inches wouldn't change that:)

I, too, have a small six year old, but he was JUST tall enough this time for Space Mountain. He has wanted to ride this ride for 2 and 1/2 years! It was all he ever talked about. That is until he rode it....it was so rough on his little neck. He is happy he rode it once, but when we went to meet Daddy for the "parent switch", he said he'd have to pass on it for a second time until next year!
By the way, he LOVES all the other rides, Spash Mountain, Big Thunder, Tower of Terror, ect....this one just bounced him around too much. Also, when he was 3 and 1/2 we tried the "platform sneakers" (they were for girls, but he wanted to ride Splash Mountain so bad he didn't mind) and it worked for us....good luck!
