Disney fans...souvenir suggestions

I recently started sponsoring children through 2 different sponsor programs. I'm now putting together care packages to send to the girls. They are 5 & 10.

Aside from clothes, educational toys, stuffed animals & such, I figured I would take advantage of my location & get the girls something they would otherwise never have...WDW souvenirs. We're told not to send overly expensive or extremely large items. I'm already going to send some park guidemaps, pressed pennies, pictures & postcards. What else would you guys suggest sending these girls? Mouse ears, maybe? Does anyone know where you go to get the names sewn into the back, too?

Thanks!

Mouse ears would be a great idea! You can get the names sewed on the back at the hat shop in the front of main street near Tony's restaurant. It's between the candy shop and the DVC information center.

Another fun thing might be one of those spinning lights? (They have pooh, mickey, buzz, etc and they spin. My kids love 'em!)

I'm sure the kids will love whatever you choose, there are so many cool things there! Have fun choosing!

Yes, I second the mouse ears. That is our number one souvenir. You can buy them anywhere else, they are personalized and they are cheap. We bought them in the hat store at the entrance to Frontierland from the hub. There are a couple of shops right there, and they had a bunch of different colors.

How about some WDW pins?

My 7yo son loves these now. We picked up a bunch on our last trip and he can't wait to get some more.

In fact, we're going to try pin trading with him this trip and buy a lanyard with the 4 starter pins, 2 to trade. This way, he can still have 2 from it and not be upset. We keep having to explain to him that he does NOT have to trade any pins that he wants to keep. :)

The little girls always love the princesses. Anything with a princess on it. I think the Mouse Ears is a good idea. I got some for La with her name and she loves them. There are several locations to get Hat writing done. Check in any of the large stores. Most have hat writing. You can purchase the hat's anywhere, and take them with a receipt to get the name at no charge.:dazed

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the helpful info!

Another question...I was thinking about getting autograph books & having the characters sign them for the girls. Is this a silly idea, or do you think it would be appreciated? Keep in mind, these girls know nothing about theme parks & all that, but they do know Mickey Mouse. :D

I'm not sure if that would have the same effect as them being there to see the characters themselves. Maybe if you could add some character photos next to the autographs.:)
