AAA Magazine WDW Article

Just got my AAA Magazine and there is a great article on WDW. I started reading it at my DS' football practice, but haven't finished it yet. They have a list of 10 must do's and don'ts.

One of the things I read was about the living trash can in Tomorrowland, the living statue in Italy and there is a living vine called DeVine in AK. I didn't know about DeVine but knew of the other two. Can't wait to go back and find her. Has anyone else seen them??

So if you are a AAA member, look for your magazine!!!

Re: AAA Magazine WDW Article

I haven't seen the trash can or statue in Italy but I have seen DeVine several times. It's a person on stilts with a green face and green vines all over it. She stands against walls in the vegetation and when people walk by she moves. Very cool. My DH is facinated with her. Also at AK, we saw it at the entrance, a talking thing, I think a palm tree but I can't remember. Anyway it talks directly to you and comments on what you're wearing, carrying etc. I have a coffee and it commented on that. We were both facinated on this one. Where the heck is the guy that's watching you and commenting. Only the voice comes out of it and it's on wheels and follows you around.

Yes it is a talking Palm Tree. We saw it on one of our visits. We still haven't seen Devine. I am going to look for her next trip. The living statues in France are so funny! We spent about 30 minutes watching them. I want to know how they can see.

I read the article on Saturday. Loved the fact that they highlighted some hidden free magic I can't wait to see it all in person. Come on December

Do they, anywhere, show a link to the magazines website?
I tried their travel site but there's nothing that leads to the magazine article.

Re: AAA Magazine WDW Article

There is also a talking trash can at AK. I have seen it outside the entrance, by Kilimanjaro Safaris and by the petting zoo at Rafiki's Planet Watch.

Devine is usually around Kali River Rapids, buy the restroom there are the entrance/exit. You really have to watch for her, she does blend in quite well. She was not there a couple of weeks ago, but we were only in the park a couple of hours.

Ok I guess I should start by labeling this a *spoiler*... or something....in case you don't want to know how the palm tree knows what you're wearing, lol..

My friend and I were determined to figure out how this palm tree was talking to us. At first we thought there was somebody squeezed into that little box under the palm tree. But finally we spotted a man in very touristy clothes walking in wide circles around the group clustered aroung the palm tree. He was carrying a little camera bag with a wire coming out of it that leads to a little microphone you can barely see... like one of those handsfree cellphone things. His mouth was moving to what the palm tree was saying... it was really funny because he was kind of a big guy and the palm tree has such a squeaky little voice! Now whenever I see a talking trash can/palm tree/other inanimate object I look for the touristy man! Fun game... if you're easily amused...
