New Hallmark Disney Collectable

Has anyone been to a Hallmark store recently? We went yesterday looking for an angel for my Mom's b-day and there in the glass case behind the counter was one of the cutest Christmas houses I've ever seen. It is a standard size decoration house, what maybe 10" x 12" x18" high, it looks to be built to resemble the chalet at the Fantasyland end of the old Skyway to Tommarrowland. It has a set of Mickey ears on top and lots of little hidden Mikeys on the windows and such. At $85.00 it is going to take a bit of persuading to talk the "boss" into adding it to our Chirstmas collection, but she did like it a lot.

And besides, it would look great next to the Cinderrella's Castle we bought on our last trip to WDW.

Don't let this one get away!

This piece is a Dept 56 collectable "Mickey's North Pole Holiday House"
part of the North Pole Series. It was introduced in May 2003

It also has an accessory piece "Mickey Builds A Snowman" $22.50

Grumpydad, where in the world did you get Cinderella's Castle. Is it regular or Christmas themed? Every year DH and I buy a special gift to ourselves to remind us of that year's vacation.
The 2 pictures provided of the Christmas scenes are adorable.

Grumpydad,
you could always argue the collectable value makes it worth the expense. Dept 56 pieces only stay on the market for a certain period of time, then they are retired. And, if you have a desired piece, in good condition, you can get a good resale price (providing you can part with the piece).

We found it at the Christmas shop in the MK. (If I can find a picture of it I will post it) They shipped it directly to our house so that we didn't have to travel back home with it, which I thought was well worth the couple of bucks they charge.

It is Christmas themed with snow all around and red and green lighting that changes back and forth. Really pretty cool

Theres another piece to the collection "Swinging Fab 5" it retails for $65.00.

I haven't seen Cinderellas castle at WDW stores yet, hopefully I will see it this trip! However I did buy Sleeping Beauty's castle and the Fire station at DL this summer. The CM said they should be making more DL pieces throughout this next year.

Be sure to try the Christmas store in the Magic Kingdom, that is where we found ours.
