Icon2 Live Illuminations camera from home??? Fingers crossed...

OK, everybody... I have an experiment for us all to try. I am still FASCINATED by the live camera mounted on top of the Swan Resort, and I think we may be able to see Illuminations, if we time it right. The camera is pointed right at Epcot, though perhaps too far to the left! I am going to try tonight to see the fireworks show, (what, around 9:30 or so?) and see if I can enjoy the show from my den... Everybody try this, and see if it works for you!!!

Good luck!

Frist off, everyone should be warned that there are a couple of popups on this site which will attempt to load marketing software on your machine. Be sure to click "No" each time you get a security warning. Do NOT install that software.

Second, web cams like this are usually designed to load a new image every 30 seconds to 5 minutes. So I doubt that even if it were pointed at the lagoon, thet you'd actually be able to enjoy the fireworks.

Third, it is pointed too far to the left.

However, I found the time-lapse feature to be very cool.

I did the time lapse several times during Hurrican Frances....that was very interesting to see the rain pouring in sideways...I tried the time lapse (on the 5 minute incriment) last night to see if I could see the fireworks and I never saw them. Good thought though, that would've been really cool!

Wow... bummer! I think the camera is too far to the left. Who do I call to climb up there and turn it a little bit? Maybe that should be a challenge for the next DCer to go to WDW!
